Since my father wanted to do one more buff job on the hull to make her look extra purty, she's not going in until today. Jon & Ed, I guess this means that we're even!

I just got back from putting the first three hours on the new Suzi 140 the only thing I can sa is WOW! At the rate I'm going to use it this weekend it will need the 20 hour service next week [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Dave I paid $10700 installed after taxes(mass 5%) and less rebate($500)that proce includes a stainless prop and two extra guages installed. Today I put another four hours on it and I've only ran it at wot for about two seconds a couple of times. It did about 34knts . keep in mind that the transom on this boat has an aluminum bracket to raise the height to 23" the previouys owner did this to get the 25" engine on there. The old engine I took off was a 115 with a 25" shaft(30knts max). The new one is a 25 inch shaft also so when I re do the transom it will be right on. This being said the 25" engine on the 23" transom the engine is still about 1 1/2 to 2" to low trimmed in it throws some spray. Not to worry a new 25" transom is in order. I was told by another local owner I should expect mid fortys(mph) when I get it raised up. Today marked a total of seven hours on it and the gas guage still is pegged on full. I will be moving the twin batts under the console to push a little weight forward. The extra four stroke weight is less than I was expecting, the whole shot is about the same as the 115 but the mid range acceleration is awesome, instant throttle response. The cruise is faster with this engine it wants to settle right in at about 4500 to 4800 and run at about 27knts which is more than enough for the northeast. When I got back to the dock this moring there was another Seacraft 20 with the same engine on it. Just in this harbor alone there are around ten Seacrafts moored there, two I have seen with the Suzi 115. All in all I love this engine so far. It idles so quietly at the dock you don't notice it running. I'm glad I got it in time for the fourth [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Sounds like you like that 140. Do you mind if i ask what you paid for it. I'm shopping for a motor for my 20 sceptre now. Also, what prop and hows the speed?

40mph at 5700rpm sounds about right for your boat/motor combo. I am glad that things worked out for you guys.

I finally got my boat in on Friday. after a quick honk down the Merrimack, I sucked something into the pisser valve. Cleaned it out yesterday and just put about 25 miles on her today (Merrimack to Cranes Beach and back). She is running well.....but my Suzuki 225 EFI was only turning 5100-5200rpm at WOT....(dont know speed...GPS, etc arent hooked up yet!) I had a full 160 gallons of fuel so maybe that had something to do with it.

Man what a day today was in CC bay. Left Sesuit harbor hit billiingsgate for fish nothing happening ran over to Barnstable harbor for a swim then back to billingsgate then the weather was so nice ran it up to Provinctown harbor then finnally back to Sesuit. Not a fish in site very disapointing. On theway home there most have been groups of fifty plus boats clummped together in a couple differant areas triyng not to cut each other off while catching nothing. The best part of today was the fact that it now takes five hours before the gas guage starts to come off of full. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Fished yesterday and did alot of running today, nine + hours total(need to fill the tank and check numbers) and now the engines going back for its 20 hrs check already put 18.7 on her since pickup on Friday night. It sure is nice to finaly have a reliable engine now I just need some fish. Hope everybody had a great weekend.

Ps. with the west wind yesterday I had a six mile run into it [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img] that had me wishing for a 23' the waves were right on top of one another with no room inbetween and a big one every eight or so waves to keep me getting up on top and letting her rip, today more than madeup for it though.

That was our boat, but I wasn't on it. Realizing the Weymouth ramp would be blocked for the fireworks, my father and Jack decided to put her in that night. I went down the Cape for the weekend so I haven't been on it yet, but the wife and I are headed over there right now.

Congrats on getting her in for the 4th. I noticed all the SC's in Stage Harbor with those Suzukis. I'm sure you'll be real happy with it.

From what my father tells me, he's getting 40 mph WOT at 5700 rpm turning a 15 x 15 SS 3-blade (3/4 fuel ~110 gals, 4 people on board, light gear). At 4000 rpm he's running 25 mph, around 30 at 4500. Compared to the old 'Rude - WOT 34 mph at 5600, 20 mph at 4000, 24 mph at 4500. Definitely a big improvement but not as much as we thought. The jack plate has been tweaked as much as possible, so short of playing with props, I think she's pretty much dialed in. Now to figure out the fuel consumption improvements...
