New Boat pictures
Here are a few pictures up my new ride. What a great riding boat. We took her out the gate on Thursday and got 3 nice salmon in the 20-28 pound range, It was a little sloppy so I got to see how the boat handled in a nice chop. I have big plans to restore her this winter as soon as the Salmon and Tuna seasons close. I will give her a complete makeover....I've been contemplating about if I should keep the same consel and just alter it the way I want or should I get a new one
and put it on the boat. Any Ideas on this? I want a seat that sits lust in front of the consel like on Traders Contender ... and no I cant afford to buy Traders contender Strick http://www.casdvm.com/photos/Seacraft%20first%20trip/ http://www.casdvm.com/photos/seacraft%20pics/ |
Re: New Boat pictures
Nice Boat, and afterlooking at those great fish pics it looks as if youre already enjoying it. I've been 11 and 1/2 months without a running ride, so I admire
everyone thats getting to use theirs. |
Re: New Boat pictures
Looks real nice!!!I especially liked the pics of her up and running. Not a lot of seacrafts on the left coast either I understand so I bet you get a lot of looks??? I have the seat on the front of my console and would much rather have the door. If you were a little closer maybe we could work a trade. Nice ride, Craig

Re: New Boat pictures
Hey Strick
I remember starting just like you!! Matter of fact my '78 was bananna yellow also but faded out. Keep the console, you'll enjoy the added space and you could add a porti-pot for the ladies. You can always put a 72 quart cooler with a cushion and add a back cushion to match snapped to the door. Good luck with your refurbishing. Capt Chuck (shellback) If she asks "How much did that cost?" LIE! |

Re: New Boat pictures
Thanks for the nice comments fellas. Miles does your seat get in the way? I am just curious as to why you dont like it. John did that seat come factory installed or did you add it to the door?I've thought of molding a seat like Johns onto the door.. and then have the door mounted to shock pistons that would allow it to swing upward like on Trayders Contender. Miles is your door the same size as mine?
Yes the boat gets looks and I heard some guy on the radio the other day say that that yellow boat is a Seacraft and that they were really nice boats... so some people around here have at least heard of them. |
Re: New Boat pictures
I too have both versions ..... but looks like the seat door ( as John shows above ) is no longer an option for me ... That forward fish hold deck was split to allow the deck to accordian under that seat .... on my boat that deck is one piece and solid now.... Like Capt S mentions the room without the seat is real nice ....and the weight loss is pretty significant.....I think Fellow-Ship had that door and cut the seat out
I have seen a forward seat that is fabricated out of aluminum pipe(nice cushion) that attaches to the door and has a pair of legs that support it. I think I've seen this on the new Contenders?? Its removable so you can keep off the boat most of the time ....then throw it onboard when doing the cruising thing |
Re: New Boat pictures
Strick - it's factory orig... I personally don't like it but the bride & son might so I'll probably keep it. And I still have the "accordian" hatch...
OH BTW - Strick, my boat is from Placerville |
Re: New Boat pictures
Thats why I had such a hard time finding one because John Stole the only one in California!! I did see the removable seat on the contenders and I think that may be an option. Either way I'll let you guys know what I did and I'll post lots of pictures. I'll probably start tearing her apart the middle of next month.

Re: New Boat pictures
Het Strick, Johns looks like mine. Cant tell but mine also has vent ports under the seat that you cant see. Since I work on my motor inside the door it is a pain having to block it open, bunji cord it every time I need to go in there. Very rarely does anyone ride up there, offshore trip or some sightseer types when wifey wants one of "those" days . The door measurements on mine are 36.5 wide and 41" tall.
You guys sent me to FLA.last week and I leave for Vegas tomorrow for a few days. I really hate work but I guess I cant complain too much. |
Re: New Boat pictures
Strick, liked your pictures. Our salmon season just closed here today, really has been that great unless you like humpies.
I see you have dual fuel filters, did you do that set up or were they already on there.I was wondering if there was a reason for both. I run a 23WA and have basically the same set up, but w/200 Merc and 15 honda. I am running both off my main tank and only use 1 filter, which is mounted below deck in the engine well and is a real pain to change. I think they put it in before the engine was installed. I really like that big engine well, my teak flood gate meets the sides about 12 inches in, same depth as the side storage boxes. |
Re: New Boat pictures
Gary,
I'm not sure why it has two fuel water separators.. I just figured it needed one for each engine. Anyhow that is the way it came. Both of my engines are plummed into the same gas tank. The Salmon Season has been petty good again this year. Right now we are getting them in the bay as well as out in the ocean. I'm going out for Albacore next Tues and Wed so I'll post some pics if we do any good. Thanks for all the nice comments fellas. Still cant believe that John got that boat from Placerville which is about 1.5 hours from my house. |

I got some pics for ya---->what's wrong with your email address? MSN won't accept the file I tried to send? Capt Chuck |
Re: New Boat pictures
Chuck
I'm guessing the file may be to big. Can you send the pics one or two at a time? I'm getting mail sporadically it seems but it is coming thru. I'll try an delete some mail. Thanks Strick |
Re: New Boat pictures
Strick, could be the engines, a friend had to go to dual filters with a Johnson engine. He could not run both engines at the same time, I don't know why he would do that anyway?
I run both from the same tank, but carry the Honda 3 gal tank in the engine well just in case, have never needed it. Someone? told me once that if you run both engine from the same tank the Coast Guard required a standby type tank, don't know if that if true or not. The Honda and Mercury use the same connections. |
Re: New Boat pictures
strick,
I think your the one who I've e-mailed some photos to. Your e-mail account isn't working. I don't know how to post the picture here, so when your e-mail account is fix'd let know. |
