great job john, inquiring minds want to know more about the two tone hull color. is the white bottom painted or new gelcoat? have you had time to get any performance figures yet?

Mr. Potter would be proud! What kind of interior/exterior/bottom paint did you use. Was it sprayed or rolled?

Is that a Birdsall leaning post? and if so, which model exactly? thanks.

Hammer...The boat is outstanding !!!! I was looking at the b4 and after pix and I noticed that
in both stages the thru hull scuppers are absent.
In the new boat where did you drain the deck.??Is
it self bailing ???? FYI..the yellow hull is beautiful..

Re: Before & After! - Hammer's 20 CC

catman, if it's anything like my '71 20', the deck drains out of both aft corners strait down through the floor and out - as in STRAIT DOWN and out the bottom.

Awesome boat Hammer! I've always liked that yellow and I was stuck between painting my hull light blue or yellow. The original hull color was yellow - your's looks so cool I want that same look. Is it Imron or Awlgrip ? and what is the name of that shade ?

You have an incredible boat there - good luck with her!

Thanks Guys for all the kind words!! You all know when you do a restore on an old boat it always turns out to be more than you first think.
Trayder answered most or your questions but I’ll try to answer the rest.
It is Awlgrip and it was sprayed. Fighting Lady Yellow and Fleet White on the bottom and console. The inside is all original, I wet sanded it with 1000 grit sandpaper and buffed the inside.
You can see I raised the transom to 25” to put a long shaft motor on and took off the low bow rail, filled the holes and put on a pop up bow light and 8” pop up cleat. Then we rolled the top with gel coat to redo the nonskid.
The leaning post was made by “Offshore Towers” in Mobile AL. I looked at Birdsall and liked this one a little better, plus I could touch it before I bought it.
If you have any questions I’ll be glad to try to answer them and will be glade to give you my phone number ‘cause I talk faster than I type.
Special Thanks to Trayder, Chris, and John R for posting the pics.
