HA JOHN R
THANKS FOR POSTING THE PICTURES. I HAVE BEET TALKING TO FRANK BOLIN (ONE OF THE WRITERS) FROM THE FLORIDA SPORTSMAN MAGAZINE OVER THE NET. I TOLD HIM TO CHECK OUT THE PICTURES ON THIS SITE THAT YOU POSTED ALONG WITH THE PICTURES THAT TRAYDER PUT UP. WELL WE ARE GOING FISHING AND HE IS GOING TO DO A ARTICLE IN THE MAGAZINE ABOUT MY BOAT. THEY CALL IT “ONE MAN’S DREAM BOAT” HOW ABOUT THAT. P.S. THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE COMPLIMENTS ON THE BOAT. Fellow-Ship-
Nice work!! When you get a chance fire some pics to me and I will complete your series. Sharp looking See is FS will mention Classicseacraft.com that would be cool. Jason |
Re: Fellowship 23 Pics
Trayder, I can zip & forward you this same set too (or you can download them from the gallery - right click and save as) but I wouldn't want to do it until I know you're ready so I don't over load the "modem" ....
FS - good luck with the FS article! |
Re: Fellowship 23 Pics
Terrific job on your 23. I have an '89 waiting for the motivation to redo it, but I didn't want to start such a large project without having a good sense of what it should look like when finnished. I know now and am eager to get at it this winter.
If you don't mind, can you answer a couple of questions? Do yo plan to put on a boot stripe? Do you feel comfortable deleting the transom door? What paint did you use? And finally, what is the performance with Yamaha 225? I will sincerely appreciate your reply. Regards, Otto |

HA OTTO
THANKS FOR THE COMPLEMENTS. IT WAS A LOT OF WORK BUT IF YOU ARE INTO TO IT YOU WILL APPRECIATE IT WHEN COMPLETED. AS TO YOUR QUESTIONS 1. THE BOOT STRIPE I MIGHT CONSIDER IT LATER. I DECIDED TO PAINT THE OUTSIDE HULL ONE MORE TIME TO GIVE IT 3 COATS. AFTER I DO THAT I WILL PUT ON THE SEACRAFT DECALS AND THEN TAKE A LOOK. 2. TRANSOM DOOR I DIDN’T HAVE ONE ON THE BOAT WHEN I GOT IT. WHAT I DID IS MAKE A SPLASH WELL TO TRAP WATER THAT COULD COME INTO THE STERN AND FLOW OUT THE BACK. WORKS WELL. 3. I USED STERLING PAIN IT IS A TWO PART MARINE PAINT THAT HAS VERY GOOD PROPERTIES FOR THE ROLL AND TIP OR BRUSH METHOD OF PAINTING. I DID THE WHOLE BOAT THAT WAY AND IT WORKS WELL. 4. I THINK THAT THE 225 IS THE PERFECT MOTOR FOR THE BOAT. IT POPS UP ON PLAIN AT AROUND 2800 TO 3000 RPM’S AND GIVES ME ALL THE SPEED I NEED WITH FUEL ECONOMY. IF YAMAHA MADE A 225 HIGH PRESSURE MOTOR WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO BUY I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT BUT I DID NOT WANT THE 4 STROKE MOTOR NOR DID I WANT 2 MOTORS ON THE BACK I THINK THE 23 IS REALLY A ONE ENGINE BOAT. AT CRUISING SPEED I GET 9-10 GAL PER HR. OUT OF HER. THAT GIVES ME A RANGE OF ABOUT 200 TO 225 MILES. FELLOW-SHIP |
