Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
Anyone have a source for these ?

Re: Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
I don't recall the exact dates, but this used to be just about the most common topic on the forum next to wet transoms. May be worth a peek at the archives

Gotcha. I already have a guy who has drawn up a
very close replica. He wants $85 per pr. I was hoping to buy them for less $. |
Re: Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
If you had a copy of the original brochure that was available (check archives) on this site. You can take it to a fast sign or any other vinyl sign shop and they can scan the logo and make it any color or combo of colors, for not much $.

abl111,
have any member that has one do a pencil rubbing of it for you and send it through the fax. This way it will be EXACT if that is what you are looking for. I'd be happy to do it for you but I peeled my 1976 stickers off in favor of the "clean" look. |

Re: Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
Thx for all the responses.
I actually have a pencil rub that I took off my boat before I scraped it off. I also took a few digital pix. So, I have the spec. I found a guy who wants $85 a pr and that seems steep for not doing that much. I was hoping someone had it done and then I would use their guy. Actually, there is a really cool "SC" "swirl" that is part of the decal, that you do not see anywhere anymore. I would gladly send the pix I have so they would be saved on the site. How do I do this ? |
Re: Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
$85 a pair? that is absurd! When I had mine done by a very good sign maker, I think it ran something like $10 for both of them and they were impeccable - I missed the all white look and took them off a month later though. I didn't get the swirl redone, but the actual SeaCraft logo took him about five minutes to do with a computer driven vinyl cutter (a huge industrial strength looking thing) and a rubbing was all he needed in order to get the typeface and size correct. That $85 figure is outright gouging.
That swirl was actually available on the new boats about two years ago, so a dealer may have something in a drawer somewhere. Another alternative is to call your local bassproshop, my local one has actually been rather helpful in getting me the transom plate with the SeaCraft name on it and any other needed parts. Ask nicely and they seem willing - DON"T go on about how the old ones are better |
Re: Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
I know that this is a little off of the subject, but in 2000 I went to purchase the new style emblems and had a hard time doing so. The reason was that you had to have a hull # that was of the newer hull before they would sell them to you. They said that SC didn't want people to use the new style emblem on the old hulls. As a result I just got a serial number off of a new hull at the boat show and backed it up several numbers so that the boat that had the # that I had come up with would of hopefully belonged to someone rather than being new on the showroom floor. Well it worked but I sure did have to go through a bunch of BS.Have any of you guys ran into this same problem?

Re: Original SeaCraft emblems stickers ( 1975)
There use to be a member (SeaCraft salesman) that could get the decals .....but he moved on to bigger and better I guess... However for me and as mentioned above a couple times .... going for the clean sides "mystery boat" thing .... separates the men from the boys when someone comes up and either knows the boat or not
