Columbus Day Regatta 2003
The 49th Columbus Day Regatta will take place in Biscayne Bay (Miami Florida) on October 11th and 12th. Anyone planning on attending? Trying to get a head count so I know if I should plan on making more then the usual 300 Jello Shots......

John,
We will be there, I hope to get my 73' 20ft in the water she is a sweetie. So everyone gets an idea of the Colombus Day regatta it's MArdie Gras in the ocean god bless Christopher Columbus and his crew. |
Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
Ok, great, and yes, it is one BIG party. You will find me, if you can, in a Concept23 with Black and Blue Checker graphics, blue T-Top. I know, I know, I should be in a SeaCraft......
I have decided to make 500 Jello Shots this year, simply from popular demand. I will be back in town two days before the Regatta so I will be very busy...... |
Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
Ha John
I might stop buy Saturday for a while I probably will be fishing if weather permits and might peek in on all the action after I get done. I have avoided the boat crunch for years plus all those naked girls (eye candy) at the moment really looks great but then for weeks afterward I have to keep on remind myself I am a married man and cant go there. Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
Fellow-Ship,
Good luck on the fishing. The weather is supposed to be fantastic!!!! Maybe I will see you, maybe I won't, depends on how creative you are in finding me. I will be anchored near a 48 foot houseboat. I have turned the fishbox in the floor into a VERY LARGE cooler since I will not be fishing much that day.... |

Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
Well as usual I avoided the regatta again. I looked at pictures of last year’s turnout and figured that if I went I would be there for a very long time and it was getting hot. I did go fishing and got two very large mutton snapper a few amberjack, one grouper and one rainbow runner about 6 lbs. but by 10:30 the fish turned off. I fished another hr. or so and then headed back to the barn.

Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
I made it for the 15th year in a row and I aint even that old. It was a little tamer than usual, not many sex acts but lots of eye candy for sure. Had a good time and the police were pretty reasonable as to the 5 boat rule. Hope everyone who went had a safe time. Love my seacraft!

Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
where can I find pictures of this year's regatta?

Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
Well, I guess I am a bit late in geting back, too much work, no play.....
I agree, the Regatta was a bit tame this year, thank you very much. But, I did manage to distribute 500 Jello Shots. I did get tons of pics in my digital camera but, I guess someone really wanted those pics because the camera walked away at some point. I needed a new one anyway. Hope they enjoy that camera as much as I did, jerks. No big problems to speak of, just the usual stuff. My buddy lost his transducer and a trim tab while putting in, thanks to his lovely wife who forgot to grab the bow line while the boat was coming off the trailer at the ramp. I managed to escape with only minor injury to the $250 ladder mounted to the bracket, courtesy of some guy dragging his anchor line around. Now, if I can only figure out how to beat the thing back to some sort of straight and find the plastic coating to replace the stuff that got ripped off. Plan on going next year, weather permitting. John PS. I do have one picture but, uhhh, I really can't post it, uhhhhh, so forget I even mentioned it ok!!! |

Re: Columbus Day Regatta 2003
Well I guess us guys here is South Florida have the best of both worlds. We can start off the day by either fishing or divine on some of the most beautiful and productive waters in America and then after all that we can stop by the sand bar and engage in some other types of recreational activity. Oh buy the way Sea water temp this weekend was 81 and they usually have a informal gathering at this same spot every Saturday and Sunday.
