Re: Ouch
"... a Ford Expedition, facing northbound in the southbound lanes..."
-this is rarely a good thing but hey, somebody at classicregulator.com may be able to pick up quite the project boat |
Re: Ouch
Wouldn't that crush your heart to see your boat sitting there like that!

Re: Ouch
----yeah, but it's someone else's

Re: Ouch
My 21 yr. old. neighbor did the same thing about 2 yrs ago. I told him that he only did one thing wrong. He said what was that??? I said that you need to wait till you get to the ramp before you launch your boat.

Re: Ouch
I live 24 exits south of that and I know exactly the location of that unfortunate occurrence. The state has been screwing around with a few miles of I-95 for years over there. The lanes shift back and forth so diligent driving is a must. The driver of that rig should have known better.!!!!!Its still sad to see that. Thank god I only have to trailer my boat less than 1 mile.

Re: Ouch
"the boat was pulled onto a flatbed truck and shipped off [the highway] for repairs...
Can you imaging that scraping sound? |
Re: Ouch
------------------------------------------------------------------------ "the boat was pulled onto a flatbed truck and shipped off [the highway] for repairs... Otto, I think that is what they call turning a deep-V into a modified-V |
Re: Ouch
I cannot think of a road I would rather drive on LESS THAN than I-95 in Connecticut. It's like NASCAR for the rest of us!
YIKES! I would NEVER trailer my SC through CT!!!! -Hooper |
Re: Ouch
The reporter must not be a boater. .the boat is a Regulator not called the Regulator..Sad site..
|
Re: Ouch
I recently had a person in their Ford Excursion with 26' boat in tow blast past me doing close to 80mph in heavy traffic here in Atlanta (in the rain). If the Regulator incident reported in the paper is correct in that the driver was speeding, AND nobody unrelated to the actual vehicle or boat was hurt, it makes a great photo and a wonderful diversion from an otherwise dull ride home. This is one of those things that the person driving will probably only do once.

Re: Ouch
Anyone know the tow Cap. of an expedition? A 26 Regulator fully rigged must weigh in excess of 10,000lbs
I wonder how insurance will handle that? |
Re: Ouch
that Regulator isn't fully rigged anymore

Re: Ouch
"When properly equipped with the available 5.4L Triton™ V8 engine, Expedition can tow up to a class-leading 8,900 lbs. ... "
I'd agree with Trayder on the 9500 to 10,000 rigged out weight... A "little" under powered... |
Re: Ouch
Boat projects take time, so how do you propose he could have had his 26' deep-V turned into a 26' flats boat any faster. I admire his creativity.

Re: Ouch
Guys ...I read "a 22 foot boat at exit 26" guess Regulator is making something to fit that consumer niche between the 21 and the 23 and 24 ...
Mark ... like the "flats boat" idea ! |
