Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Jeff,
Heard you guys had some snow down there, but we're still schedualed for a 3 AM departure from Rochester. See you then! Otto |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
If you guys get together and you do not mind would one of you guys get a group shot at the seacraft booth?
I would like to start a members gathering photo section. Tx Jason |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Hmmmm.......Boat show ....I better get to bed !!!
Otto ... thats a trip and half for you |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Had a gathering of three, less Finster who was ill'in, but we did manage to meet, forgot to get photo as we got into SeaCraft chitchat right away and were comparing notes. The sales guys at the booth did not know the site, and our compulsive and obsessive behavior rendered them speechless!! Some of us heading south soon, never know what we'll come home with! Tentative summer gathering with boats, either early summer or late, down by Finster????

Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Jeff.....I think we spent about 11/2 after you left ..... much to Robins dismay !!!! Tom (saltydog) Otto (himself ) and I probably would still be there!!!
Looks like some new members are headed our way also ....one of them is here RBRboats (Christian) dont know if anyone else is here but looks like lots will be coming. Frank Wise (the SeaCraft Guy) kept sending customers back to talk to us ....it was too funny..."Hi my name is Joe .... I have a SeaCraft" The three of us ....Oh yeah and Robin were getting ready to set up a booth (Hmmm .... a booth at a boat show...) I think Frank really wanted us to !!!!Picture to come shortly !!! [ February 09, 2003, 10:36 AM: Message edited by: Scott ] |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Glad you guys got to hang-my mate Jack just needed to keep movin, good to see you guys. How many boats did you sell? Did you happen to see that SeaCraft wanna be SilverHawk with the straight IB? I missed it, but would like to have seen it, sometimes hard to get ideas and compare installs on my boat as few are around...let me know if you need help with the roll-tip, I'll come down...

Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
How about a section for road trip stories like ours last night, getting lost in South Phillie on the way home. Met some great Eagles fans. The only thing that kept me awake on my part of the drive was the buzzsaw, (or should I say electric chainsaw!) coming from Otto sleeping in the back of the truck!

Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
hi gang.
It was good meeting you at the show. Thanks for leading me to the site. Our family has had a 23 for quite sometime (about 30 years) can't wait till the weather breaks! Its a pleaseure to be a part of a select few that own the very best powerboats. Yay SeaCraft! Regards, Christian Del Collo rbrboats.com |

Christian-
Welcome aboard, I checked out your site and am most im[ressed. Those Boats are some serious machines!! Would it be possible to make a RC SeaCraft? Seriously? Jason |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Wow, what a great time! The 2 hours we spent easily made the 7 hr. (each way) trip worthwhile.
Here's the 2 images Robin was kind enough to take for us (Thanks, Robin for being such a great sport): http://www.foodmachinery.com/SeaCraf...s/DSC03678.JPG From the left: Otto, Scott, RBRboats (Christian), Salty Dog (Tom), and Frank, who bought his 23' new in '79. All great guys. From strangers to total buddies in minutes. http://www.foodmachinery.com/SeaCraf...s/DSC03679.JPG We got back at midnight. Piece o' Cake. We'll come down anytime. In fact Boston and the Cape are about the same drive for us. Our 3rd on the trip is a Rochester cop and was fearless driving 85+ during his shift. Oh, yea, don't let SaltyDog fool ya, he snores right up there with the best of em. Finster, sorry we missed you, but enjoyed talking to you on the phone. Hope you're feeling better. Jeff, sorry you couldn't hang. Lil Jack was a good sport; been there... Christian, great to meet you and hope you consider Trayder's question/suggestion on making an RC SeaCraft. I'll place my order right away. Frank, look forward to seeing you on here. Scott, enjoyed meeting you and (oh, yea) Robin. You, Jeff and Finster and the logical ones to initiate and host a get-together this spring. I have a lot of flexability and would tow down early and help out. How about Sandy Hook, or L.I. to attract the Conn folks. Would you RI and Mass guys be up for that? How about Chesapeake guys? I'll bet we could get 20 boats easy on the first try. I think we uncovered just the tip of the iceberg. We'll talk... Trayder, thanks for gettin it started. Regards, Otto |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Glad to hear you guys had a good time. Nothing like intimidating a Seacraft Dealer or any boat dealer for that matter.
We should do some planning for a get together. Early or late in the season is best. I'm sure I can come up with quite a few slips from neighbors who don't have boats. Probibly some houses too for cheap rent. |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
First off ….It was great meeting everyone !!! wish Finster could have made it ….I’m sure it was killing you that you couldn’t come out to play !! Otto and Tom ….seems that you don’t mind traveling but its still to bad your not more local !!!
Jeff.... I kinda got that feeling ... you know when the "First mate Jack" started to pull your hat over your face !!!...Hey bottom line he was good while we were there...Just wished we had taken the photo earlier... Did you get to the electronics guys ??? I might just take you up on that offer to paint Hey Otto and Tom ....when did you guys get home ??? Like I said I think we could have spent the whole day shooting the *#&$ .... didn’t even need to pay the $15 to get inside !!! Glad you had something to keep you awake for the ride !!! Do you guys remember what was the guys name/boat name that had the 23 with the Yanmar and .. did I hear Bow thruster ??? I know he said he was in the Shark River ...but I never really got to talk to him ...I guess he’ll show up here ... I hope Jeff…Yes I was on the Silver one with the I/B ... not bad ... but as many know its a 1 foot longer SeaCraft !! The salesman was funny ...nice guy ... just goes on about the ride and everything ....Then asks "What do you have???? " HeHeHe.. talk about having the wind taken out of your sails !!!! ...and it looks like I'll go with the Birdsall post ....unless something else comes along more appealing , we tried out the Silverhawk’s post and it just wasn’t as comfortable....felt like you were being pushed forward off the seat...I'm sure it could be modified....but that Birdsall post has a great look… especially on all the SeaCrafts at the show..at least for me.. To tell you the truth I didn’t spend too much time on the boats .... might have been on a half dozen or so .... The Predator is real nice ..... but at around $450,000 It will have to wait Then played around on the boat I use to work on, the 45 Viking....The crew quarters are larger and the salon is smaller (don’t understand that move) very, very pretty boat....and it better be at just under $1 Mil..... Never got on it but that boat in the SeaCraft area..the custom built Jersey Cape I think??? looked pretty nice and had really pretty lines...might have to go visit Frank to see that one !! Spent alot of the time dodging people in the vendor area....looking for fuel tanks, bought some electronics (for example .. Standard Fuel gauge FF41 for $95 ... I think it normal price is close to $200.... I should have bought 2 !!!) Life rafts (anyone know anything about Winslow liferafts ….very small valise…Switlik still has first vote though), Fischer Canvas, boat trailers and on and on…… [ February 10, 2003, 12:54 AM: Message edited by: Scott ] |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
HI gang,
I'd be interested in making a sea craft R/C. do you think it would be possible to use my hull so as only to tool a deck mold? It does get pricey to build molds. Drop me an e mail for suggestions. Pics of our 23 will be on soon. Christian Del Collo rbrboats.com |
Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Would that be a replica of the Potter or Tracker Hull?

Re: AC Boat Show, Sat.
Hey Guy's Thanks for the call but I didn't get it until it was too late. I was at the show on Weds. Best day to go , no people around and lots of boats to look at. I stopped by the Sea Craft booth and looked at the rides.. My 67 19' cost $4,250.00 new with a 100hp Evinrude and Semiole trailer FOB Maimi.. can't even buy the motor for a 20' for that....
