Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Last year several CSC members and interested passers-by got together at the AC show.
http://www.discoverboating.com/boats...es/header2.gif I had the pleasure of meeting many terrific guys and really enjoyed the conversation. We could easily have had our own booth. I want to plant the seed for any of you that can make it, probably on Saturday, Feb. 7th. We need a host vendor. We were fortunate to have the cooperation of the local SeaCraft dealer. I hope to meet many of you that have been so helpful on this site. Pencil in the date. If anyone has any ideas where we can meet, please post them here. Ticket to the AC boat show - $15.00 Cost of a new SeaCraft 23 - $60,000 Meeting fellow ClassicSeaCrafters - Priceless |

Otto ...you read my mind ....
Is Tom coming down with you ?? |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I'm in. I'll try and track down Pat.
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I'd be up for going.
Anyone from my neck of the woods feel like going on a road trip? |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I'm in.. I just hate going on Saturday.. but I'll go for the good of the order...
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Scott,
It would be terrific if you could scoop up an RV load to go down from MA/RI. Trayder has has a Suburban... Don, I agree with Saturday, we could go with Friday, but assumed most had to work. But then again, does anyone on this site have a REAL job? Any votes for Friday? I don't have a "traditional" job, so I'm up for anything... |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Oh, yea, I forgot to tell you guys: I spoke to Finster, who lives near AC. He invited any and all of us to camp out in his new house.
Sounds good if you dont mind sleeping on BAMBOO. Ask him... |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Stop by booth 116-118 and say hi . I will be hard aground in my booth the whole show.Have fun and enjoy the show. The only thing I have at this time is some discount cupons for 2.00 off regular admission ,anyone wanting some stop by my store, or get me your address and I mail you some. All exibitors have then to give out. Joe R. Seafarer shop ltd www.seafarerltd.com E-mail seafarerltd @aol.com

Unfortunately I have one of those "real" jobs, so I'd need to take Friday off. No big deal though. Finster, many thanks for offering up the abode. Please explain this "bamboo" thing. [ December 31, 2003, 01:42 PM: Message edited by: Scott ScottM ] |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Scott M-
Did you say ROADTRIP? If finster doesnt have room for us, we could stay with my parents who live just outside of NYC. Sure beats having to do a roundtrip from Boston to AC and back. -Ed- |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Hi Scott, the bamboo is an Otto weirdness thing, what he means is I'm putting bamboo flooring in, but it will not be in by then. But everyone is welcome to campout in the house nontheless. I have heat, bathroom and beer. Hell it sounds like fun.

Oh yeah,
Sounds like a great time. Count me in. Pat |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I like Friday.. I can leave work early. That way we can beat the crowds and play on da big boats...and take over the Sea Craft booth...
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Ill be working the Bombardier display. Let me know what day and location.
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Try for Friday, parking is tight and last year I walked 4 blocks in the snow banks (prefer sod banks).
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Friday sounds good to me Whats the accual day?
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I have a small house on Mystic Isle, just down the street from Chris. A couple of people are welcome to stay there as well.
My next door neighbor usually walks around topless at night. And remember it's chilly up here. He doesn't do much for me,...but my wife likes it. hehe.:bolt: |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Do we have a consensus for Friday the 6th??Meet at the SeaCraft dealer booth at 11:00 AM, they'll really be overwhelmed this year...
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
are you guys sure SeaCraft is coming to the show ? They were not at NY -I went and only saw Mako but no SeaCraft- I know they did go last year to AC
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
McKee was the dealer there last year .... looked on there site for info but nothing about the 2004 shows....Interesting website www.mckeeyachtsales.com .... just dont have your speakers turned up to loud
I don’t even remember seeing makos at their booth ... just SeaCrafts, that 36 foot “Day boat”, Oh yeah ...and Otto |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Friday at 11:00 will work for me.
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I guess Friday, Feb. 6th at 11AM is the consensus. Tom and I are down with that. We'll be driving down from Rochester and will be happy to scoop up 2 or 3 guys en route.
Finster has a carpool/overnighter plan that he'll propose here for that Friday. Scott, oh yea, bring Robin. We need girls! |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Thinking out load, the McKee/SeaCraft booth was OK, but I definitly did not feel welcome. They sort of tolerated us. The convention center has meeting rooms that we could surely "borrow" for an hour or 2. Chairs, tables, etc. Any comments? Does anyone know staff at McKee?
Better yet, we'll rent a booth for 1/2 day and bill it to Trayder... |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Hmm, Lets sea,20'Ma 150 merc.Regular kind(Carbs) from here to there in Feb. Thats what about "13' cases of "BREW" ?
OH YEA THE GUYS AT OUR BOAT SHOWS(SEACRAFT) SQUINT AT US TOO ! [ January 06, 2004, 11:56 AM: Message edited by: Capt. Brad ] |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I'm a Quail fan and 'Scott White' is a great name...we could go across the street for lunch after we meet...I think the dealer thought we were fun for a while unitl Otto and Tom started to remove the pop-up cleats off the 23'...

Now the guy at the Fountain booth... On the other side … one of the sales reps from Mckee spent a good deal of time talking to me ... thought it was really cool that we all had SeaCrafts ... even said you guys should set up a table .... your drawing interest to the booth…with this group they may need a bigger booth Quote:
Then again we could always take over one of these…… http://www.vikingyachts.com/images/56c/main_image.jpg I’m sure we would have enough room between the Bridge, Cockpit, Salon and Engine room Color may vary !!! Quote:

Otto …. Robin is running scared …. Kinda like when you get dragged into a clothes store/boutique ... Its scary that I even know that word How many days till the boat can get uncovered !!! |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show

Don,
Yea, that looks like the plan. Looking forward to it. |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Sorry gents...
Can't make it on Friday....I have to work that day. Tip back a few frosty ones in my honor. -Ed- |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
At least one person has a "real" job. And Ed's obviously committed to it. That's rare. But he doesn't have a SeaCraft yet. Things will change when he does...
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Ed, thats too bad. If you guys want to come down sat. I'll go again.
FYI, I had four guys staying in the house over with these fridgid temps and it wasn't bad at all bad. Heat, couch, sat dish, beer, what more could any man need? Oh yeah bathroom.....got it. [ January 12, 2004, 03:10 PM: Message edited by: Finster ] |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
On a side note on whether the guys in the UnClassicSeacraft booths are nice or not - the guy at the RI show was OK even after I told him I had an old one. Of course, he didn't know anything about the old ones either. But at one point and he didn't know I was in listening range, ge was showing theat Powerboat Reports article and talking about this wonderfull site (as if we supported 04 Seacrafts - OK 2004 Seacrafts as 74 and 84 are well represented here)...

Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
I had a great idea, as long as all us guys are going to be down for the show why don't we finish Chris's boat for him. wih all this man power and beer should take us no time at all.
 |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Pogpen,
Teriffic idea. If Chris wants to put the boat in the garage, heat it to 75 a day in advance, get all the materials ready, I'll have my tools, compressor, etc. and will volunteer Friday night after the show and Saturday until Noon. Tom is in too, he just doesn't know it yet. One transom, 4 guys all night? What's the theory? 4 beers per hour times 4 men (and maybe Robin) times 18 hours equals (wait, I need a calculator...) 288 divided by 12. Wow, that's 24 cases. Good thing he bought that 3/4 ton pick-up... Seriously, we're in if it's heated. |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Hey you guys coming to the ac boat show down from Mass:
Do any of you guys have big ass trucks like and f-250 or excursion - or similar and want to make a few bucks on the way down? I have a boat - 23foot regulator on it's own trailer (in great condition) that needs to come down to this neck of the woods. Boat is in Quincy Mass. I'll pay all tolls/fuel for the trip (both ways) and a night in a respectable AC hotel. It will save me from drivng up there and back down to AC. |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Mada-
Scott M is kind of a small guy and doesnt need a truck. I think he drives a YUGO Just teasing Scott! -Ed- |

Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Otto-
Since I was laid off last spring, I've been working semi-regularly at a friend's boat restoration shop. Since I like it so much.....don't know if you can call it a real job:) Finster- Thanks for the offer. I'll talk to Scott M and see what he says. Mada- If my truck were a bit newer, I would tow that Regulator down to you. Unfortunately, the old Bronco needs to last until I get my job situation straightened out. -Ed- |
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Scott M, do you have a truck?
|
Re: Atlantic City Power Boat Show
Hey NJ Scott-
I didnt know Scott M was out of the country. I hope he is someplace warm. I'm doing well. How are you? You coming up to the Boston boat show? I dont think I will make it to the AC show, but I did make it to the NY show with my Dad over the holidays. A lot of eye-candy at that show:) -Ed- |
