Switch Panel

My switch panel on my 84 has been cut-up and altered. I'd like to replace it with the same material Seacraft uses these days on their new boats. I looked at it real close and it appears to be a formica type laminate matrerial. The material I speak of has an aluminum finish and repeating circular patterns. Does anyone have a source for this material?

I am looking to replace my switch panel as well. My panel is 3.5" x 23" and has 8 breaker switch cut outs with the SC Logo on the right side of the panel.

I believe you have the same type of panel. Have you seen the type of work this company puts out? The price seems OK if the quality is there.

Re: Switch Panel

I tracked down the company that makes the switch panel for Seacraft. Didn't price the whole panel, but did get a price for a replacement front for a current model - $45. I was hoping they bought the material in bulk, but it appears they have to machine each panel for the effect, thus the high price for a little sliver of formica. Can you give me more details on the panel you're having made.

I have the same panel and see the exact size from my earlier message. I would also be interested in replacing the plexiglass drip guard just above the switch panel as well. If they need me to send the old panels just let me know. The group discount sounds like a good idea to me.

This is what I am doing with mine since I think my boat was made on a Friday...that is the only reason I cant think why they put a blower switch on an outboard. switch panel

The switch labels are fine with me. Why not either give me a private messsage or call at 508 904 7552 to discuss final details. Are you replacing the splash guard as well?
Do you have a line on new breaker switches?

Re: Switch Panel

I talked to the engraver today and she wants to see my panel again but she said she will do better than 140.00 for 3 or more. All she said to do was measure your panel and make sure they are all the same size. Then email me what you want engraved under each switch and the total number of switches. I will bring my panel in to her on tuesday and let ya'll know how much they will be and how long. This company does all the gauge panels for Bertram and Hatteras so thay should tell you of their quality. Plus Im pretty much anal on who does what to my boat. As for the plexiglass sheild I will let you know how much those will be.

Does anyone have a source for the red switches for an 83-84? I'm missing one and would like to fill-in an empty hole until I replace the front panel. By the way - my boat was built on Friday also. Blower switch on an outboard. Maybe they know something we don't?

Re: Switch Panel

Prices on Switch Panel

Ok talked to the lady today. Ready for this.....? My panel as pictured with 7 breaker switches, kill switch, ignition switch, Large SeaCraft logo and my boat name........$102.00 plus Fla tax of 6%. The actuall switches are not included. Now for the non conformists. The turned aluminum, carbon fiber, colors, wood grain(teak, cherry, mohagany<sp> oak,) add 25 cents per square inch which the panel is 96 square inches which adds approximately $25.00 to the panel. Also add on 2-3 additional weeks for completion. My panel has 7 switch places, for more switches add $4.00 per swith with tag (name of switch). Boat name is .39 cents per letter. Circular cuts (hour meter large holes) $1.21. So. whoever wants to order one let me know. All I need is to know how many switches and their names, boat name, number of holes. I will make a mock up and send it back to you for approval (as long as you have microsoft word). When the mock up is done you call them, give them a CC # and I will give them your mock up. When they are done I will ship them to you. We can go from there. If you want new breaker swithes PM and I will tell you how much I can get them for.

PS whom ever sent me their switch name list...resend it, I lost it when my troll touched my keyboard. http://hometown.aol.com/Rufridr069/panel2.jpg

Does anyone know where to get the plain stock? Or to get various laminates like burled woodgrain and such...

John,
Try J. Freeman in Dorchester. They've got a pretty extensive list of plastics, maybe they have what you're looking for.

Generally you can get pieces at trophy makers or sign shops.
