Your second favorite boat under 28'
Borrowed from a thread from classicwhaler.com, if you had to buy a boat under 28' OTHER than a SeaCraft, what would it be.

cape cod 26 or conch 27

Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
I would have to say either a Contender 27,SeaVee 26 , or a Conch 27 all with twin 200 Yamaha set up for little longer trips to the Bahamas.

For me, this boat simple looks like what a 27 foot SeaCraft SHOULD look like. Built with vacuum bagging and kevlar, it only weighs a mere 100 pounds than my 1978 (#2650) CC. A 100k price tag is a little excessive but not too crazy in todays market. |

That is a nice boat ..... I don’t know the status but in an earlier thread (off topic ??) that 27 came up and someone mentioned that Hell's Bay was having a bit of financial trouble .... Too bad if its true and hope someone bails them out as that is a pretty boat Would love to take a ride on one of them, as I'm curious to the ride vs. hull weight and how well it would perform in some real slop Cost .... as Briguy says for a 27 with motors and a trailer ...that too aint bad in today’s wacko out of control market |
Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
Scott & Bri,
I saw the Hell's Bay at the Miami show. She jumps right out at you like a long legged blond bombshell. You can't wait to walk up to her and gawk. |

Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
Gotta love the Tides 27', saw it, drove it, and almost bought it, twin Yanmars, canyon runner...just as soon as I get divorced

Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
Without any question it would be a 1967 20' Bertram BMR or Moppy.
That boat is incredible. Rocks like crazy at a standstill but after seeing more Airtime then a motorcross bike, that baby re enters the water just as soft as you can imagine. |
Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
southport 26 looks pretty cool

Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
25' Carolina Classic
Luhrs 250 Open 25' Bertram Bahia Mar 25' Grady Wahoo (single straight inboard. Drop a built 454 or a 496 in if it'll fit). Won't be the best riding boat but damn near one of a kind. |

Re: Your second favorite boat under 28'
Other Tom's rendition of a 25'CC (Whitewater redo) is pretty close to ideal.... That said, I saw some nice Conch's/Whitewater's/old Contender's in Key West yesterday that were rather attractive. Joey's Fitz 25' ain't ugly either
