Narragansett Bay area gathering

Hey, how many people are interested in some kind of a get together in the Narragansett Bay Area next summer??

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

I'd be very interested-it would give me a chance to make a little trip from northside of the cape.

Great, that's 3. Looks like a beginning.

What are the usual kind of activities, etc. for a SC gathering? Trayder, have you had any gatherings in the past?

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

Blizzard,
In August '03, we had a gathering at Trayder's house. First we rafted up at the Newport jazz festival, then headed back to Jason's for a cookout. There were 10-12 site members, but only 3 SeaCrafts . If we can put something together for next summer, hopefully we can get more SCs. I'm in the process of buying a new trailer this weekend, so I can bring my Seabird down. I know, it's not a SeaCraft, but the name begins with "Sea" .

I told Jason to count me in. I'll be up with the Vette.

Scott just put a Seacraft logo and one of Capt. Chucks Potter built stickers on it and no one will know. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...smiley-013.gif

You can count me in if it is on the right weekend.

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

But it's so far away - Jazzfest was a great place to get together and a great time. Seacrafts were underrepresented but the Mako didn't sink (almost)...

Finnie - you bring up the Vette, I'll give you a WHOLE dollar

Its still a ways off but we are planning to do it again next year at our home in Middltown, same format as 03, raft up@ Jazz fest then a cookout.

We had to cancel this past year because our house was having some remodleing done and stress levels were at an all time high.....I hope it will be done by 05....

Jason,

Great!

I didn't mean to step in where I don't belong. Let me know what I can do to help. Also, can you get the date as soon as possible so I can be sure there are no conflicts?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul, seriously not a problem at all I did not think anything of it,

I can not commit any dates as of yet therefore if you would like to take the reins i will happily step down and if all works out I can offer my home as a meeting place but i can not commit to any dates for a while.

I have never seen a Mosley - that would be a real treat!!

ELEVEN!!

Jason, I assume your neighbor will come with his new 23' -
that would be 12.

August 11th through the 13th. I have 2 conserns due the festival. Parking for the "rig", 50' LOA and a decent hotel for at least one night. Any comments.

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

What "Rig" is the Rig?

It may be too late but I believe there is RV parking at Fort Adams or Fort Getty - I'll try to find out...

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

That's 15 !!!!

There is definitely plenty of parking space a Ft Adams, as well as a launching ramp.

Otto, there are a number of hotels and B&Bs in the area, from Motel 6/Days Inn all the way up to Hilton and Marriott. Not sure if they can accomodate your trailer and boat though.

Scott 01-02-2005 11:25 AM

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

Otto ...We, along with Seafari (aka Rodney )stayed at the Motel 6 a couple minutes (5-10?) away from our last gathering .... It was a room ...nothing fancy .... but the price was right. There is stuff closer ... but also more expensive ...If I recall $275-300 / night ...but at the time there were no rooms even available...book early if you want the "foo foo" places with a mint on your pillow

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

I can accomodate 5-6 boats with Trailers in my boat storage area, I can also store a camper or if you want you can stay in the camper....I can get you water and CATV but no pumpout......

As for places to stay, I will get a date this week so everyone can plan accordingly.

Jason,
What about the 3lb nuts that live in your trees?
Maybe we can string some mosquito nets above the
boats!

Trayder 01-02-2005 07:17 PM

Re: Narragansett Bay area gathering

Yes, of course, I will have tarps avail but if you have a cover bring one. The nuts were not too bad last year, I am more worried about the "nuts" bringing the boats

Chris- by the way I have your Hatches in my Garage, when would you like them?

Hoping I'll have time to get her ready for Newport 2005

Transom looks like it'll need to be replaced ...but I think it can be done !!!

I know what your thinking ...thats a little flat in the transom ... but I've had her out in 6-8's making 30 kts ... no pounding ... and real dry !!!
