That's pretty slick looking. I like how they mounted the helm. What kind of boat is it?

Yep, just as Bobber stated, that's what is known as a "poop-preventer" and is usually used for the first couple years of an engines life (kinda like the way you baby a new car). The shade it provides also helps to keep the engine from overheating in the hot climates and very warm waters where these flats boats are used.

the only thing I could think of is for para sailing. But a 30 hp doesn't seem fast enough.

HeHe Yes Chaz thay are. It's a poling platform. You stand on it to get better vishion when site fishing and you pole the boat from there. It's mostly used for catching fish in skinny water.

People do that?!: you have a perfectly good engine and yet opt to POLE a boat.... baffling! Probably by the same people that try to catch fish with chicken feathers tied on a hook when good 'ol Velveeta and night crawlers work so much better -

Mark, I guess I should have looked closer, I would have seen the pole mounts. So I quess the Seagull theory is out.
That boat is to nice to fish, hate to get blood all over that wood.
