Planning for the 2nd annual Va. Seacraft Owners

Figure its never to early to start planning- 2005 2nd annual Va. Seacraft Owners Rockfish Tournament- thinking about maybe expanding a little bit this year because i think we will have a few more boats i hope. I was thinking something like 30 dollar entry fee and a 60/30/10 split with maybe a lady angler/kid division also??? what do you guys think ?? also date- i was thinking around dec 3 /4th weekend???? I would like to get at least the date nailed down soon so hopefully I can get the marina deal (Long Bay Pointe again I hope) done quick and not have to worry about that stuff. - Ill leave the post on here for a little while and try to get some of the boyz from the other fishing boards, Tidalfish,VBSF and Sportfishing.Com to come take a look and hopefully participate. Anyways it was a pretty good time last year and hopefully we can kick it up a notch this year- lets hear what y'all think???? lets get this thing going- craig

p.s.-if i remember correctly last years winner fred was happier with the little plaque than he was the money just so he could rub it in a little huh gary ????? what was the weight difference , 1 oz ??? LOL-

Craig, let me know what kind of help you need, I can do.
Thanks for reminding me not to call Fred and chew him out for not bring his A$$ (fish) up there then take the prize by that 1 oz. I don't know the Bennets Creek boy's but there are three or four SEACRAFT's up there and will try to get ahold of them. Then we can always try to get Croaker lips (Danny) away from his new girl friend.

Re: Planning for the 2nd annual Va. Seacraft Owners

I'm in Chesapeake. I just bought the 76' I/O 23cc that Gary was talking about. Evidently, Gary and You knew the history of the boat. Gary went with me to test drive it.

Alright guyz- what about the dates - weather date the following weekend???

Re: Planning for the 2nd annual Va. Seacraft Owner

Craig, sounds good to me, I'm sure Fred is in, he proably hasn't spent last year's winning's, but has the plack in his garage and yes he does rub it in. Matt has a sweet 23 I/O, OI owner Buddy Vaghn, then Ron Saxby and I forgot the guy he boght it from (Va. boat since day one) will run in the low 50's. He also has a new (reconditioned) 20' for sale on the forum, really like new. How about everyone say hello on the water, I see alot of SEACRAFT's on the water and don't recogonize some of them due to not everyone showing up at the Marina for last year's weigh-in.

Re: Planning for the 2nd annual Va. Seacraft Owner

Hey Gary- here is the list from last year and all but fred have already said they were in.
1) Miles Offshore
2) Knot Working
3) Donna Sea
4) Mega- Bite
5) Doghouse
6) Fred Tyler "Captain Seagull?"

Ill add/ update as we go on- There were some other boats that showed interest that I hope will participate that for one reason or another could not last year. If we could get the list up to 15 boats that would be awesome, I think its a very achievable goal. Craig

Re: Planning for the 2nd annual Va. Seacraft Owner

Yeah,I was raised in Ocean City and two of my kids were born in the Salisbury hospital(my third's a coon ass, born in New Orleans). From my late teens untill about 30,I ran charterboats up there in the summers and hunted all winter.Although I am very fortunate to live here in the palm trees and fish 12 months of the year,I do miss the shore at times.Really miss white marlin,by far my favorite billfish.Sailfish are easy and blue marlin are too much work, but white ones are the perfect billfish!

well with winds a steady 20 to 25 it looks like its some hard cores and hoars fishing tomorrow- down from the original 12 boats to 7- low of 27° tonight- only the strong survive (fredwith his 23- no top, nothing but a console- doesnt even like having anteneas on his boat- lol- hopefully the wind will die tonight and big fish will be a plenty

Craig, I hope you are out of bed with that junk you had, looks like we should have a spring ROCK tournament after some of us get our gas tank problems fixed. The doctor told me he would need a couple of weeks to make new tanks.
