Re: Katrina
Tug, I just tried your cell with no luck. I know you should be seeing a little sunshine now according to my radar. Hope all is well. Let us know as soon as your up. It's hammer time in the keys. Just spoke to a friend in Islamerada, she works for the power company there. Marathon got slammed along with the lower keys. Stay safe.

Re: Katrina
Talked with Tug this morrning. He's a little wet and a couple of trees down. Still has all his utilities. The water rose within 5' of his door. The eye passed within 15 miles of his house. He said "Hoover" is chest deep in water. I guess in this case "sheet floats"
Stay alert Briguy and Warthog it's moving your way again |
Re: Katrina
Don't forget about Seamaster. He is in Key West.
Spoke to a friend this AM in Islamorada. He lives on Snake Creek, It was a rough ride. Another friend in Marathon, said 1 inch of water on the first floor, blew through the old windows in the house. Hopefully all of our south Florida friends are OK. Keep us posted guys. See ya, Ken |

Tug, glad you and the family are OK.
Down trees you can deal with. After the 3 storms last year we had to deal with. There are no more trees to fall down. If we can help let us know. See ya, Ken |

Re: Katrina
Well we just went through the grunt of the storm. Even though we werent supposed to! Whats up with this weather people, with all this expensive equipment, and cant tell us were the storm is going. It blew all day yesterday, and is stilling blowing and raining now. We JUST got our power back. Good thing the boat was on the trailer, it was filled with rain. We had a gust of 104 mph, with sustained winds of 70-75. It was not fun! Glad everyone is okay!

Re: Katrina
Power just returned, it's been hot as hell here! No power, no phones, no cell service. The generator I bought last year didn't start up until yesterday when I exchanged it for a DEK model, finally had some power in the house but no ac until today. Like everywhere else had a lot of trees down and blocked us in for a while but those of us with trucks could drive over the smaller ones. Hope the LA and MS guys are getting ready for this one cause she's one tough biatch! Glad to know most everyone came out OK. I just had my first look at my boat since Thursday since the base was closed until this AM, she didn't even move from her parking space! Good thing because I'm wetting her this weekend!
