Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
I've been thinking of Seafari's all weekend after seeing those beautiful pics of cSickNicks 20 seafari. I'm lacking in seafari pics. Does anyone have any that they can share with the board. Nick do you have any side view shots of your boat? I only have a couple pics of the elusive 25 seafari. I need some more boat porn fellas...can you help?

Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
So Strick,
When you pick up a 20' Seafari, are you going to go with a Seamark bracketed outboard (like Bill Potters)? http://www.hermco.net/picts/pottercraft.jpg I hope you go this route (you first ), i am curious on the performance of a bracketed 20' Seafari. - Nick Hey Don, glad you still like your top! |
Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Why use the "Potter bracket" when you can use the "Strick Bracket"?

Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Nick-
That blue seafari looks great. I'd have to talk to someone who had the bracket on the 20 seafari first but I think with some trim tabs and the bracket the boat should be fine. Did Don make your hard top? Rich- Not sure if I want to go thru all that trouble again strick |
Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Hey Strick,
I hope you find one soon, so we Seafari guys can take a vote for bracket or non-bracket. Don made the hard top, and it has passed the test. Very pleased with his work. - Nick |
Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
CSN - I too love that top - givin me ideas...
and speaking of Don - wonder if Don at Hermco could get us some first hand impressions from Bill P of the performance of the 20 Seafari with the bracket ??? Bill |

Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Sweet ride Finest Kind, nice striper, too. Where did you get the convertible top? and are you using it or the hardtop frame from the first pic. Pros and cons of each? Overall preference? Thanks, McGill...

Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Finest Kind---great looking Seafari....
I have the same questions as Gillie....I went with a generic bimini..because of price (it was cheaper than having a custom convertible made)..I got a convertible quote for $850 including custom frame and install a couple months back seemed a little high :o. Also, could your boat hold twin motors...?? Looks like it from the wider transom opening. -Fred |
Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Thanks McGillicuddy!! She came with the convertible top. I still got it, but i am using the hard top now. Pro's and Con's- I miss the dry ride of the convertible top!!! I used to go out in some serious slop and stay dry. I've put the bow under multiple times in big surf leaving the creek and water would ride up over the bow and right over the top and crash down in the back of the boat which would go out the scuppers. I used to get a kick out of it!!! Now i get soaked!!! and in the rain I get wet as well. the one thing i didn't like about the convertible was i couldn't stand up and see because it was atached to the windshield. so i would stand in the step down spot going into the cabin if i wanted to stand. But I ripped the zipper so I pulled out the welder. I alway's wanted to put a VERY small second station up on a 20' so now i had my reason to build the start of it. (meaning the ripped zipper). i wasn't sure how she would like all the weight up so high above the water and wasn't sure how much it would effect it so i built it low as i could, only a couple of inches above my head. I'm not very tall so some of my friends have to duck but hell i built it for me!!! So couldn't wait to see how she felt and finally got her wet and didn't even notice the extra weight at all. So i felt i could definatly build a little something up there. Well a year went and still no second station up there but i do like the top it's mostly to stay out of the sun fishing in the hot haze on cape cod. but i do use it for moving lobster traps and anything else i can think to throw up there to get out of the way, and to stand on and look for them tuna. so it does it's purpose and it gave me a early spring project and it was fun and to me that is what matters!! oh but i do need something for the spray and rain so i don't get wet anymore so that is on the agenda for this spring. plexiglass or something. something simple thats all i need.

Thanks for the feed back. Any chance of getting some measurements from yours. I think I'm going to have a convertible made, Thanks - Gillie

Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
Fred,
No twin motors, that was the New England Tuna Door option!!! Just kidding, yea it had two 50's on it when the owner before me (second owner) bought it. |
Re: Seafari 20 and 25 Pics?
I even rigged a 20' CC with the wide transom cutout with twin 3 cyl. 85hp Suzuki's back in the early 80's. 230 lbs each, if I remember right. Worked okay. Engine well was full of water all the time offshore.
