Bennett Add Campaign
I was contacted by Fair Hyams of Bennett Trim Tabs after sending a few pictures of my boat. They are going to do ½ page advertising showing my 1976 23’ CC SeaCraft and a picture of myself in several boating and fishing magazines. I had the photo crew come to my office a few days ago taking pictures. My trim tabs were installed on this boat back in 1977 and they are about the only thing I didn’t replace when I re did my boat in 2001. Fair told me that if anything brakes on the tabs that they would send me what ever I needed, but I told him that the tabs have been on there since 1977 and probably would last another 28 years before they would go bad. Well guess what, I received a little thank you gift of their tab positional indicator and a new toggle switch in the mail. My old toggle switch still works great but the sun has faded it out some so he sent me a new one plus the positional indicator which looks like a pretty cool device to let you know exactly how high or low you tabs are. Sometimes I can’t tell if I should go up on the one or go down on the other this takes that guesswork out. My guess the adds should show up in magazines in a month or two.

Yep- Pretty Work!!!!!!!

Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Ken that is great. Maybe FS will do a "One Mans Dream Boat"
feature of your Classic SeaCraft. I have had the Bennetts on my 1970 20SF for 30 trouble free years as well. If guys would install the pump assembly in a dry area, they will last forever I believe. See ya, Ken |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Actually a had Florida Sportsman set up to do the one man dream boat article on my boat about 3 years ago. I set up a time to meet the writer at the dock and everything. I was going to take him out Sail Fishing out of Miami. Well two days before the trip someone at the office died and the funeral was for the day of out trip. Tried to reschedule but never happened. Well one of the magazines that this add is coming out in will be the Florida Sportsman mag. I think I will contact my man again after the Bennett add hits and see if he would be interested again.
As for posting pictures maybe Capt. Chuck will post one I never figured out how but I did gave Chuck a CD with a bunch of them. FellowShip |

Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Thats cool! I had a write up a few years ago to send in that they were going to put in the dream boat section, never finished it. Hey,maybe we can get them to report on Classicseacraft.com and post a bunch of pics of the changes we have all made. Just imagine how valuable they'll be then.

Re: Bennett Add Campaign
That's Cool FELLOW-SHIP.
Perhap's you may want to try one of their ATC control's. I have one going on my boat. Last May I finally ran into a guy that had it on his boat. He say's it's the cat's A$$. How you set it is to run the boat on smooth water and set the tab's where you want the boat to run. Then push the 2 set button's on the ATC and never have to touch them again. It keep's the boat running at that attitude all the time. If you have a deck monkey that like's to move around a lot. The ATC will adjust the tab's faster than you can manually and keep's the same attitude that you set from the get go. |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
That is pretty darn cool! I wish they would do a writeup on our boat! So I could brag to everyone down here!

Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Thanks Guys
It’s nice to have your 5 minutes in the Sun. FellowShip |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
I just talked to Fair Hyams from Bennett today and he told me that the adds will be rolling out very soon both in magazines and also in distributors parts books. So my 5 minuets in the Sun will commence shortly. During the conversation he also asked if I would be interested in a additional 15 extra minuets in the Sun, I might add very bright Sun light indeed. If this comes off I will let you guys know all about it, but I don’t think spilling the beans now would be appropriate.

Re: Bennett Add Campaign
“THIS MY BOAT” ON THE BENNETT AND SEACRAFT ADD POPPING UP ON THE FORUM.
Well here is the rest of the story. I will be doing a advertisement segment on Shipshape TV program in a couple of weeks as well. They are doing to show a few pictures of the boat going through the process of the re build and then some Script of me talking about it. Almost as cool as the 5 Sailfish we got over the holidays. FellowShip |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Thats Great-
will you get to meet the "G"-man? Mr Greviskas himself? He was one of the main reasons I ever thought to restore a boat in the first place. I record almost every one of his shows AWESOME!!! |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Ha Jayson
Ya, I will be in his little film studio in Stuart, Fl. on the 10th while doing this spot. I like you spent a lot of time watching his shows while working on my boat and still catch every one I can today. I must say things are a Lot Easer for the guys re doing their boats today. Between this web sight and the G-Man you can learn everything you need to do a great job. FellowShip |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Jason
Do you have the recently episodes where they redo the 21 seabird? I'd be interested in seeing those |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Yes I do, but they are on my DVR and I am unsure how to get them off as I deep sixed my VCR.
I have the episode where they removed the deck cap and spoke about Plexus. I wish you could buy a DVD with the entire job, maybe you can? |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
I was just watching that Seabird deck cap episode on Sunday. If I remember correctly, DIY Network or ShipShape TV sells the videos, but I don't know if only per episode or a whole season/series.
Here's a link to the show numbers: http://www.shipshapetv.com/upcoming.htm |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
From what I gather. The tape's are available on the Ship Shape TV.com site, except to people in FL. I'm betting it has to do with collecting tax and they don't want to be bothered with all that mess.
On the Seabird redo. I was real disapointed that they didn't use a composite core for the transom core. It was mentioned in an episiode before the cutting started. Way to go FELLOW-SHIP. I'm happy for 'ya. Tom has asked to put mine on the website. |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
Awesome! I guess I'll have to look at your mug every time I look up pricing in the catalogues
You will be kinda like a internet boating forum celebrity in no time. I think the tabs on my boat are about that old too. Way to go!!!! |
Re: Bennett Add Campaign
