SWEET DAISY! That thing is NICE 8o
They just keep getting better. I guess the years
of accumulated information on CSC are reflected in
every new (old) Seacraft that we see here.
I'm guessing that Wildfire did the work? Who built
your top? That is one sweet T-top. Anyway, congrats!
You have the sweetest I have seen yet.

Fantastic looking 20.

Whats the story behind it? who did the work, how long have you had it etc,

very sharp looking boat.

Riffraff,
Yes, thats difinitely one sweet boat. A couple questions if you dont mind. Did you raise the floor? and How do the scuppers work with that 200 hp yamaha? Also do you have any fuel burn numbers yet. Thanks -Will

Re: 1977 20 SF finally complete...check it out.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I bought the hull in July from a guy in Michigan, drove 8 hrs to Charleston WV to meet him and pick it up. I did not want the 200 merc (not sure what yr)that was on th boat, so he kept it. I stripped everything out of the boat(hardware, console, wiring, etc). The transom was soft, but the floor was solid so I left it. G Crafts Marine in Awendaw SC did the fiberglass and paint work, we raised the transom 5 inches and raised the boxes in the corners of the transom. I rigged and wired everything. The console and leaning post came from Birdsall and the TTop was built by Carolina Custom Rigging in Mt Pleasant. We filled the original scuppers and put the drains in the transom and used the rabud sea scuppers, they work great. We also added the spray rails. I just finished about a week ago.

Here is what it looked like before:

Here is what the transom looks like in the water, you can see that the water line is just below my scuppers. I added the rabuds later. I got all of my ideas from this website!! Thanks to all you guys who posted great info. I could not have done it without this site as a reference.
Oh yeah, It tops out at about 53 on the GPS and I get about 3.5mpg at cruise (32).

Pretty work! Greatlooking boat. Like the SS rub rail and the spray rails. Are they from Smart Rail? What color is the hull? Thats a boat to be proud of.

Great job! Congradulations on your new 1977 SeaCraft 20CC. I like the canvas covers on the storage area and the hatch in the bow, nice detail. Good luck with her!-PF

Tarpun, not sure what brand the rails are, but they are not smartrails..the color is Awlgrip ice blue!!

Re: 1977 20 SF finally complete...check it out.

Riffraff,

Great looking project. What are the spray rails, a commercial product such as Smart Rails, or a custom fabrication and installation?
Regarding the height of the scuppers above the waterline, I'd guess that the 200 Yamaha weights about 470+/- lbs, you indicated the deck height is original height, yet the holes are well above the water's surface; did you do anything internally to change the trim of the hull?

riffraff 11-16-2005 08:21 PM

Re: 1977 20 SF finally complete...check it out.

dcobbett,
I didn't do anything to change the hull, I think you are dead on about he weight of the motor, I will be honest with you, I was very concerned about the level of the scuppers until we floated it. The spray rails are plastic rails that were cut to length and screwed with 5200 and painted. They do make a difference.

Very, Very nice riffraff.

If you find down the road that the Rabud's are not sealing corectly. The ball's will need to be cleaned. This is a PITA with Rabub's as you have to dismount everything and then reinstall and reseal them.
If that time come's about. I'd suggest replacing them with TH unit's. the mounting hole's will be the same, but TH has 1 screw you backout a little and the whole plastic housing turn's aprox 1/4 turn. Like a baynot style. The ball's are then real easy to clean and reinstall without disturbing the mounting screw's.

You did a real nice job!!
I really like the Original SeaCraft Logo.
That would make a nice addition to the CSC gear.
See ya, Ken

Sweet boat. I repowered with a 2005 yam 150 4-stroke that weighs about the same. It sits a little lower than it used to but the deck still drains. I don't get 53 MPH though!!!I really like the canvas storage covers. That would be great for fly fisherman like me, fly lines seek out any possible tanglement like stowed rods. The work looks great. Congratulations.

THANKS!!!!

What type of drive on floating dock is in the first picture ? Is it difficult to drive the boat on?

Re: 1977 20 SF finally complete...check it out.

Hey muddy, I had all of the hatches made from a company in S Florida, they are UPD Plastics http://www.updplastics.com/
They did a great job and were reasonable for custom work.
Fishstu, the floater came from Carolina Waterworks in Mt Pleasant SC, it works great. I was worried that it would be difficult to get the boat off with bottom paint, but it's a breeze.
