SC 18 project

I just picked up this boat yesterday. It's a 1974 model...the guy wanted it out of his yard and said I could have it if I removed it for him. Time to begin a new project.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like a 20, not an 18. Pretty sweet deal nonetheless. I can't wait to see it restored.

I wonder what the idea of the twin D ring's on each side of the transom is?

Wow! Nice Hit. Especially considering the beauty sitting alongside her. Do you plan to document the refurb. w/pictures? Best of luck. Vezo, Part II.

To be honest with you...I didn't even notice. The guy told me it was an 18...I hooked it up to the truck and took it home. I snapped a few pictures yesterday and that was it. I have the title and registration in my truck...I'll have to check it out. But yes...it was free and I didn't want to ask too many questions before I left with it. Vezo,
Yes, I plan to document the rebuild. I was inspired by a buddy of mine who did a 27 and also by the pics on this website. His boat was completely finished waiting for motors when Wilma floated it off the trailer and into a tree causing a lot of damage to it. He also has owns 4 18s. We are planning on finishing this boat so it matches the 05 23 that we have...only difference is that we plan on installing a bimini top instead of T-top. This boat will be for the sandbar and taking the dogs out.

Awsome deal! I just picked up a 78' 20 Master Angler this weekend myself and plan on a complete re-fit of the boat. I guess it will be a long term one year type project. Too bad your not closer to NY or myself closer to you, we would be able to help each other out.

When I saw the boat it was 16 degrees, so I really coulden't check if the deck was rotten or not. Transom looked good, and she overall was a really good shape, all she would need is a paint job and some minor glass work, but I want to go all out on this build. Close the transom, add bracket, new floors, rebuild console, etc.

Stand on the deck and if you can hear the ice cracking inside the core....then its rotted.

Re: SC 18 project

My deck was rotted pretty badly...mine is getting a complete face lift. This boat had been neglected in the last year or so and all of the hurricanes didn't help much. Good luck on your rebuild.
