Any Info would be appreciated....
Hey everyone-
Just bought a 1976 223' superfisherman. Inboard, everything re-done in 1998. I was a previous owner of a 1975 23'mako inboard, and upgraded to this boat. Any particular"quirks" to the boat or anything people that have experiences with these boats would have to offer me would be appreciated. Thanks Adam |
Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
Hello adam-
welcome to the site glad to hear you upgraded boats. You will love the 23 SeaCraft. There is a decent amount of general info on the 23's in the forum. There is a search button in the header. for more specific info Miles Offshore has a 23 inboard and I know Finster has done his homework on them as well welcome Aboard |
Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
Welcome Adam,
The difference between the ride in the 23 Mako and the 23 SeaCraft are night and day!! Just enjoy the Boat and this forum. There is no shortage of knowledge on this site. See ya, Ken |

Adam,
Welcome to the board! You can start by giving us more info on your current boat and also what you may plan on doing to upgrade the boat. You will find this board friendly, fun and super informative. There is a member "spidercrab" who was very useful during my restoration. Where do you live? |
Re: Any Info would be appreciated....

Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
Adam ..Where in Monmouth county ???
I know an owner (23 seacraft with bracket ) that had the same boat as your prior ... Purchased it new and had it for 20 some years, very good looking boat. Took a ride on the boat he ended up buying, the seacraft, and was blown away with the ride. He said he wished he had made the step up many years earlier. Couldn’t believe there was a boat in this class that handled the ocean so well. Congrats .... The boat speaks for itself !! Oh and Welcome to the site!! |

Glimmer Glass...???? Spent a lot of summers over there .... Worked on a 38 Bertram that was slipped in there !!! got to ask ...did Rich have influence on your move ?? |
Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
I'd be lying if I said no. Richie is a good guy-his property is right next to my mother's house. We bust balls and do a lot of fishing together. His old make was good to me, but like i said, it was time for an upgrade. The seacraft he bought was re-done (fritz brothers) I think and had been down in Florida for a while. I prefer inboards to outboards, thats the only thing I don't like on his boat. Other than that, his is cherry. What was the 38 bertram you worked on?

Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
I talked to Rich about his “new” boat I guess about 2 years ago now … That boat is beautiful. As far as the Mako, I remember seeing it on the water all the time … was a great looking boat. But its name was dead on!! There was another 23 Mako O/B by us … They got pounded to death in that thing yet refused to turn around in weather. They fished with us on occasion when we went offshore and the weather just wasn’t right for the 23.
The Bertram I worked on was the Polka Dot ... The owner lived in the first house right after the park. He had the first five slips after the municipal docks. Was with him for about 7 years while in high school and college. We fished about 4-5 days a week and would go to Florida with them for a bit in the winter ...It was great. He often referred to the boat as "my boat" ... I knew it inside and out, up and down … 7 days a week. An invaluable experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Lots of great times on that boat !!! Lots of friends made. |
Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
The boat is awesome… I knew Billy Fritz as a result of him working on the boat (and other boats I was on) I was not surprised to see the level of workmanship on the SeaCraft. Rich told me what the prior owner had in it !!!! I think he also did an insane inlaid sailfish coffee table for the salon of a Viking I worked on
Picture is not very good … but it’s a Beautiful boat http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/finesse/1.jpg |
Re: Any Info would be appreciated....
