I guess thats whyonenickname is sinkcraft
The blue 74' 23 that sits behind mine was laying on its side on the bottom in 4 ft of water this morning I dont know the whys or hows. There was another chinqateaque skow also sunk. They were both fine when last checked on last night by a couple of people- only thing i know of is there was a higher than normal tide last night and they possibly got caught under the piers. Hope this is not a pattern and i certainly hope there was nothing "intentional" going on. Anyways I am certain someone will be able to get a nice 23 project pretty soon (i/o) for a pretty good price. The guy was planning on selling it anyway.

That's too bad. It could have been dock lines that were too short for the water level which may have pulled one side under.
We also had some really high tides. Check out these pics of Boston Harbor yesterday: http://www.bobspixels.com/view_album...bum=2006_01_31 |

The Boston Harbor images are really terrific. Is that global warming at work, or what.
What's a tide, anyway? |
Re: I guess thats whyonenickname is sinkcraft
Great pictures but terrible tide!

ScottM, those are some great shots and really cool presentation. Thanks. Now I've got to call So. Wellfleet to see how they are fairing. 43 degrees right now...not bad, huh? Not so good for firewood sales but at least there is no frost line for my buddy to deal with. Very unusual. My desktop is the webcam from the Beachcomber, looks like a great day. Cheers, Mike.

Vezo,
We're expecting another 1 inch of rain today. But I guess it's better than snow. We've had a very mild winter so far, but that is supposed to change next week. There must have been some pretty intersting shots from the Beachcomber during the Jan 18 storm we had - 80mph gusts and driving rain. |
Re: I guess thats whyonenickname is sinkcraft
The reason we are getting rain and not snow this winter is based on the fact I bought a new 11.5hp snowblower in November.

Re: I guess thats whyonenickname is sinkcraft
Bring your snowblower out and go up to Mt Baker and practice, they could use your help, ( about 50 miles behind my house). It has something like 300 inches at the dome. They are haveing the international snowboard contest there this weekend. They are having problems because of so much snow. Last year it was cancelled because of lack of snow, so goes the year. Re: I guess thats whyonenickname is sinkcraft
Those were some great pictures Scott, the tide was still pretty high here yesterday when I went down to check on mine. Buddy had i believe boat us come down and raise the boat for a mere 1K (cant hide money) and towed away somewhere. Not sure where he took it though. Doubt i will ever see it moored behind me again. . He had only used the boat 3 or 4 times probably in the last several years(total) so I doubt he will have it restored. Oh well, it will make someone a nice project. Id have been sick, actually I was sick when I heard. See yall. Craig
