Re: Boat trailer

I tried to find the Rocket T231A with no success. But what you need is a two axel aluminum trailer. For Florida I would go with a float on type with torsion axels and all stainless steel bolts with stainless steal Kodiak surge brakes. You need a 5,000 to 6,000 lb trailer for that 23’ I went with Loadmaster out of Tampa.

Fellas food for thought, I know someone in Miami that is selling a 7500lb alluminum two axle carribian trailer. I believe its a 2000. The trailer is in excellent condition, I beleive he is asking $2,000 for it, if interested I will give you his contact info ;)

Re: Boat trailer

The rocket that I found is a T231ab all anodized with 100% SS fastners, tongue jack, bow and aft guides, cadiun plated disc brakes on all axels,14" tires, torsion axel with removable spindal, 7000" CAP. price out the door $3953.65
It is all so located within 5 miles of the boat to be purchased. Can pick up after boat imspection. Is price for new trailer fair? why were you looking for the same trailer.
Thanks Keith

What I meant was I looked on the web sight but could not find that particular trailer. As for the price that is about as good as you will find anywhere. My trailer is 6,000 lbs. and works fine the 7,000 is even better. In fact, after I posted above I realized I should have said either a 6,000 or 7,000 not a 5 or 6.

I think that might be a little high ! I would check into NexTrail
or North County Trailers in Jupiter. Thats where I got mine. 24'- 26' 7000#, All alum, torsion axles and Kodiak S/S disc brakes.

I just finished researching and purchasing an aluminum bunk trailer for my 20' CC. I narrowed it down to Steve at East Coast Trailer (Loadmaster) 407-718-0066 and Jeff at Owens and Sons (Slide On)727-323-1088. Both individuals were extremely helpful and they both offer nice trailers at a good value.

Chuck has to drive the OJ Special because he doesn't have a job (other than this non-paying CSC gig) and Lil has to do all the work. She has the sweet ride...

Re: Boat trailer seen in the flyer for sale

When I bought my new 6,000 lb Loadmaster aluminum float on with Stainless Steal bolts and torsion axels and just regular disk brakes and a spare tire back in 2001 I paid $2,600 from Loadmaster themselves. After I splashed the boat my regular disk brakes lasted approx
1 ½ years and I had to replace them and went with Kodiak SS which cost me approx another $600. That brought me up to $3,200 my guess since trailers have gone up since then you are looking at $3,500 to $4,000 but I could be wrong. You will need to price a few companies yourself. That used one looks pretty interesting, but the balance would be off for your 23'. That could or perhaps not be a problem.

Your Right,I talked to floaton about a trailer and they talked alot about the correct weight and lenght trailer. They were $4250.00 for the 824" series pre adjusted for the said boat. 2 week lead time. Nice people there.
Thanks Keith

Re: Boat trailer

I just bought a Nextrail trailer this last summer for my 25' grady, upgraded the surge brakes to both axles, got aluminum mag wheels, spare tire with mag , all stainless bolts, and the new bearing lube system, all delivered to my house in Ohio for under $4000. 7000# load capacity. Haven't done a lot of trailering with it yet, but the little I have done it seems to be ok. The two rear(main) bunks were preset to my boat. I didn't have have to adjust them - just the front two. I thought I had a problem with the trailer at first, called the company and they got right back to me. - I would buy another from them. good luck

Sorry to hear you missed an opportunity. 1 good thing came out of it though....now you have a consensus of best trailer application for the boat. An aluminum "Float On" is really what a classic deserves.

I called regarding a Continental Trailer today:

Ha Darkside;

You might be a little to small on that trailer.
3000 for the boat
500 motor
1000 gas
500 stuff
1000 trailer
6000 lbs.
And that’s not counting the 2 Swordfish coming back from your trip and 250 lbs each.

I Agree Ken, I now have a 7000# tandum for my 23'.
Although I had a 5,000# prior to the bracket install. It did fine for the Florida Highways but I was pushing the limit http://floridasportsman.com/art/dupe.gif

You guys are probably right. This is information my wife got. Keep in mind I have a 20 not a 23. Any suggestions you can offer would be great.

Thanks,
Drew

Fellow-ship -

I may not be taking too many trips on my boat unless it's really calm - but I like your #'s!!! 250 plus all the way!!!

Re: Boat trailer

I also have a 20, and a heavy Seafari to boot, and I have a 2003 Continental, drive on, aluminum frame, tandem axle, with bunks, good for about 5000 lbs. model SSTA2150 and it works great, boat rides low and very secure with no sway at any speed. I once blew a rear tire and the trailer still made it on one tire on one side to the tire shop about 10 miles away.
