I might be out that way with the big boat in early August. I would love to meet up out there, I love that area.

I can try and swap a weekend, but no guarantee's. I tried last year, remember.... :(

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

I fish Chatham Pleasant Bay/through the cut on the ocean all season so July is good for me! I could probably park a couple trailers in my yard in Orleans if need be. The boat ramp is one street over and about a 1000 feet if you drew a line. Sounds fun. Squire sounds good also.

CapeBoater1 04-13-2006 06:37 AM

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

What beach! Inside pleasant bay, back side of Nauset is protected and would be good in any weather. River Road Orleans has parking along the road for probably about 10 trucks/trailers if we were there early. I'm not as familar with other landings/capacity.

You REALLY sure you want to meet at "the beach" in Chatham :D :)

No changes to Jazz Fest though, right?

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

Yes, John I will look at the tide charts this year.....doh!

As for dates on Chatham you guys choose. I was going to launch at Ryders cove and then head out from there.

Newport will be like last year but no shin dig at my casa.
Raft up and fish and then maybe a cook out at Third Beach

CapeBoater1 04-13-2006 01:24 PM

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

Ryders is a good spot to launch. They added more parking there. River road in Orleans is at the end of pleasant bay and would provide more parking room if Riders runs out of space.

It looks like the 15th and 16th of July should work for most everyone who has already posted on this subject. How does that date sound to everyone? If thats okay, next we need a location. I like the back side of nauset myself, but I'll go wherever you guys want. This will be my first get together so you vets out there do what you think works and just let me know. Thanks

Mostly wine these days. :(

Do we have a date yet?

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

I think we should stick with the 15th and 16th of July. Or if we just want one day, lets go with the 15th. Now we just have to firm up a location. The inside of Nauset Beach was proposed and would be a decent location.

I don't know Chatham, but if thats the big blue their heading out to, those type II PFD's those clowns are wearing wouldn't cut the mustard keeping their heads above water.
I think they need to strap on cSickNick's noodles

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

Thats the big blue alright! At least when I did it it was a super minus tide very foggy and sunset so no one got a pic of me ;) turned to soon and just caught the last six feet of a bar and sat there till I got pulled of by a big ole smokey diesel, after his line snapped three times. The worst part is that six feet away the water was fifteen feet deep and where I was it was about four inches

CapeBoater1 04-25-2006 09:38 PM

Re: CHATHAM 2006!!!!!

I hope never to be on that bar!! They are very lucky it was a calm day. I saw a commercial fishing boat on the inside of nauset just inside the inlet on a bar, high and dry a couple years back. It was foggy and we were going slow and could not believe it. He was bummed.

Alright, this is who we got so far:

Chris Downey
Caper
rocdoc
Scott M
Chance
Swamp Yankee
Trayder
Rod Man
Finster
Jim Curto
Hooper

and on the defenite maybe side we got:
Roger
joema
Jon G

I was thinking maybe we could meet in the morning at the beach and then some sort of small fishing tourney, then maybe a BBQ and maybe some horse shoes in the evening hours. Any thoughts on that.

hopefully, add me in on this, probably come down with my son. Only iffy is that I'm scheduled for surgery to correct my sleep apnea - what I refer to as roto-rooter of the throat and sinuses, that's supposed to be May 24th, probably near to a month to recover decently, so by mid July, I should be back in decent shape, I hope.

and by then, I'll -Need- a good weekend !!!

Re: CHATHAM 2006 July 15th/16th weather depending

You can count me in. I'm out there every weekend anyways. Hopefully I can get an engine on my seafari by then. I've told a few people not on the forum that have seacrafts about the gathering, they're into it also. If I can't repower by then is it ok to bring my whaler. wouldn't want to be blackballed. The location is great. Can't wait to take over the beach area. Also I 've heard thier getting some keepers in the sound. I know of a couple in Harwich.

Re: CHATHAM 2006 July 15th/16th weather depending

I'd love to come down, but that's the same weekend as the Oak Bluff's Monster Shark Tournament. If the Tuna come in early, I just might be fishing one of my Mako spots somewhere off the BB bouy. I won't be fishing the Seacraft unless we have an issue with one of the big boats. Have a great weekend and take lots of pictures!
