1982 23ft SeaCraft Sceptre For Sale

Well guys it’s time to part with my Sceptre. The boat is a 1982 SeaCraft Sceptre. The transom was redone in 2001. It originally had a sheet of ¾ ply and a sheet of 5/8 ply, I went back with less wood (3/4 and ½ marine fur) and made up the difference with glass, 15 gal of Vinelester resin was used in the transom project. When the transom was complete, I sprayed the boat with Allcraft 2000 fighting lady yellow. I replaced the rub rail, vents, “SeaCraft” emblem, and stripes. I had to have the stripes custom made because no one has 1½” tape anymore. I also installed the 12x12 DF Bennett trim tabs and rewired the whole boat. All fuel hoses has been replaced (fill, vent, and engine). The 144 gal fuel tank is in good shape as well. In 2004 I installed the custom made A&J Marine bracket and Sea Star Hydraulic steering, and recored the bulk head that the steering helm mounts to. The boat has dual batteries, that were replaced in June 2006, also has a 3 curtain enclosure and a cockpit cover (not pictured).
A Garmin 162 GPS with blue chart, Garmin 240 Blue fish finder, and Apelco VHF radio is included with boat.

The engine is a 1997 200 Yamaha that I purchased new in 1998. The engine has been meticulously maintained and is in excellent condition, at this time it has 680 hrs on it. I replaced the water pump and thermostats last year.

The trailer is an older Aluminum Loadmaster. I rebuilt the trailer in 2003. The trailer now has stainless U bolts and bolts. The springs, tires, equalization bar, and hardware were replaced.
I’m asking $15,500. I can be reached at 228-990-7415
Thanks, Steve

Thanks; it is turn key however it does need some cosmetic work. The top cap and floor needs to be repainted, and there is a small section of the floor that comes out (11/2ftX2ft where the deck plate is), that needs to be recored.

Do you still have the boat? If so, how much are you asking for it now?

:D :D Craig, the last time that I talked to Mike he had the floor back in it. He was working on building the bulkhead that is parallel to the transom. He almost had the teak removed from the outside. He said that was a real pain in the arse.

Rusty, the boat is at Wild Fire marine in Stuart, FL. It's only some 600 plus miles from us. ;)

Steve just saw the reply aparantly wildfire is the place to take seacrafts. I should have taken mine to a shop for the rebuild but im a little short of funds right now. I need to sell a lot my wife and i bought to build our house on. Bought a house in orange beach instead of liveing 45 min inland. that would have sucked. I like drive 4 min. to the gulf instead.

Re: 1982 23ft SeaCraft Sceptre For Sale

Rusty, I believe that Wildfire is the best place to take our boats to. So far I'm very happy with what Mike has done. I have heard of a couple of other shops that were also very reputable, however they are very far from us.

10-4 on the shortness of funds :D, I know where you are coming from. My wife and I are working on building a house at this time. We are building about 25 min from the boat ramp. This really sucks!! However I'm only doing it for my children. I want to get them in a good school district.

IT IS AMAZING HOW PROPERTY VALUE EQATES TO SCHOOLS. We lived in a A district in florida and the only district i would have moved to in al just happend to be one of the top in south al. Every teacher at the middle school my oldest goes to has a laptop on their desk and all have school web address's. My youngest's elementery school is building sun,sea and stars. Its a multimillion dollar aquarium, planitarium and mini ecosystem.

I just got goose bumps! Building our dream home too.
It has been over a year since we broke ground. Hang in there
with the whole process. I acted as my own contractor, only because my dear old 80 year old Dad is still a licenced Florida contractor. Saved a ton of money for what we are building. Plus my beloved SeaCraft's and 3 other boats are
getting a new home to.
See ya, Ken [image]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0003.jpg[/image]

digreg, I wanted to use the SeaVette a couple of years. As you probably know the SeaVette is being repaired at this time. I don't really want to sell it, but you know what they say, " Every thing is for sale just not always on sale"
:D

Re: 1982 23ft SeaCraft Sceptre For Sale

Well the Sceptre is gone. :( They say that the two happiest times in life is when you buy a boat and then when you sell it, well the person that made that saying up must of not owned a SeaCraft, because I'm not happy at all. As a matter of fact it was almost like getting rid of one of my kids. However I do feel like the guy that bought it will take very good care of it. I was keeping the boat right around the corner from where I'm living and every time I would go home I would always pass by the boat to check up on it. Well that has become such a habit that I just passed by where the boat was and it caught me off guard. I first thought OH $hit where is the boat? Even though I still have the SeaVette, I'm really going to miss the Sceptre. I've had a lot of good times on that boat. It has never let me down. Any other time I would of just kept both boats, but with us building a house that wasn't really doable.
