Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
Sweet boat. Is this boat running a single 90hp? In the first pic it looks like the number 9 on the back of the engine cover.

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
What type of speed do you get with just a 90?
|
Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
NOT FAST, BUT DO I SAVE GAS. A FEW MORE BEERS TO GET THERE!! WHEN I WANT SPEED I GET ON THE 47' DAVIS. IF I KEEP HER WOULD LIKE SOME IDEAS ON MAKE & POWER BEFORE TUNA SEASON. THANKS JOHN

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
Are you asking us what you should re-power her with? If so then are you considering keeping her an outboard?

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
I just saw a new Jupiter twentysomething, probably a 24 or 25 with a pair of brand new Yamaha 300's, those would look great behind the 25! :D

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
Based on the weight and size of your boat, I wouldn't go any lower than a single 250hp OB, either 2- or 4-stroke.

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
Botapeje,
Just saw them in Boating Magizine, at $23K apiece for engine alone, could get a bit pricey, but would go like hell |
Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
Well then the decision is fairly simple. Go with a 4 stroke Either the Suzuki 250 or the new Suzuki 300 4 stroke. Trash the gill bracket and have Don Hermco (active user on this site) put a fiberglass seamark bracket on the back of that thing. If you are looking to re-sell the boat then you should have no problem after all that

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
THANKS GUYS, REALLY A LOT TO CONSIDER, BUT I DON'T THINK I WANT TO CHANGE THE BRACKET AT THIS POINT. I'LL LOOK AT REPOWERING BUT NOT NEW, TOO PRICY. I HAVE THOUGHT MAYBE THE 225-250HP RANGE OR WHATEVER POPS UP. JOHN

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
46k huh? Still, they looked GOOOOOOD!!! :D
|
Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
a 250 Mercury Verado would be very cool...

Re: SEAFARI 25' 1975
Botapeje,
I was wrong, the one that I saw was Suzuki 300, $23,625 for motor alone not including required electronic remote control, rigging harness, or digital instruments |
