Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Maybe you put it in, but I missed it.
What shape is the deck and transom in? If they are good, make sure to play that up in the add. Also, at least where I live in the Northeat, now through Jan is the worst time of year to selll a boat. Good luck. Peter |
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
There have been, and still are, some great boats listed for sale on this site. Have a look at the other 20's, compare what they have going for them and what they are priced at, then look at your ad and see how it stacks up.

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Not to give you bad news but if boat sales up there are like cars and houses down here... The market down here is stale so if you want a deal on a winter house on the gulf coast our property is having a " correction " is i think the word being used. Condos here should be getting realy ripe for picking as well...

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
The Market is week as was said in one of the post.I would look at what a new 150 outboard is going for and add that to your sell price and and think about if you would pay that for the boat.I have a friend that just bought a nice turn key 1979 23 that was listed on boat trader with all the goodys for $24000. he got it for $20000.00. the boat has a 250 four stroke yamaha warranty till 2009.Spring is not that far out,you may want to wait.It looks like a very nice 20. Good luck Keith

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Thanks for all the information everybody, I knew the market wasn't that great but I wanted to get the boat out there and see what would happen, I hope it will sell soon.
The boat does have some soft spots in the rear deck where the two chairs were mounted. With a new motor the boat is good to go all I need is a buyer. thanks |
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Just thought I would see if anyone was ready to make me an offer I can't refuse before the holidays. Any interest at all? Make me an offer.

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Tough time of year to sell anything, especially a boat up north, spring will get you much more action I'm sure. Not what you wanted to hear but guys are more worried if you have enough firewood aren't you? :D Same thing in Fla though, boats get kinda dead then comes a couple 80' weekends in March and people stampede the dealers.

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Hello,
Where are you located? Please email any other pictures and details on the condition of the transom. I see there is a plate over the transom. Thanks, jdonohue@ensr.com |

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
A plate doesn't really mean anything, I put one a perfectly good 23 Sceptre transom when I put the V8 Rude on it and we also put a piece of Alum angle special ordered from Jax on the leading egde inside because it was mounted so high, sometimes its just prudent to spread load.
You always try and spread'em every chance you can :D |
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Since the snow is now melting and it is 50 degrees today in NH, I thought I would drop the price on the boat to $6,000.00. Anybody interested?

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury

|
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Yes it is bottom paint I didn't paint it last year because I had it on the trailer.

|
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Do you still have the boat?
|
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Yes
I still have the boat. |
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
What will you take for it???
|
Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
What I'm asking! I already dropped the price, and I have put alot of money into the boat with the improvements I've made. I bought the boat 3 years ago for $4,300 and I have done all the work listed above. If you like we can talk more if you PM me.

Re: 1974 20 CC with 175 Mercury
Maybe you should rebuild the power head and use it for a couple of seasons. $7200.00 sounds a little steap for a boat with a blown motor. My friend bought a 20ft with a 150 for $5000.00 boat motor trailer. had t-top VHF, stereo with CD and GPS and fresh water wash down.
