Future Seavette home
 

Well we just got the slab poured on my shop. The shop is a 40x60x16 Ace metal building with a 16x60 lean too on the side. The Seavette will be kept under the lean too. We should be starting on building the house very soon. The last pic is the neighborhood dog. :D

I used to work for a concrete floor finisher ... hard work. :o

You will be glad you built the "Boat House" first.
When we started on our home we had a place to store
everything we were buying, IE: flooring, appliances,
bathroom accessories, etc. Plus when the weather got
bad, you have a place to duck out. Our home is weeks away
from being completed. Last month the lease ran out on the
cabin we were staying in, the owner would not let us stay
another couple of months till the house was done.
Uh-Oh, we became homeless. Thank God a friend had a 28ft
travel trailer he was not using. You guessed it. Trailer
in "Boat House" all hooked up next to the SeaCraft.
Kinda cool sleepin' with your 2 loves. (Wife and Boat)
Attached pic is my version of a 20ft overnighter. :D

Nick, I here ya, the guy is in his 60's, he has been doing slabs for 40 years. He said that he does have back problems, imagine that.

Ken, Sounds like we are in the same boat. I almost had to do the same. I sold the old house and couldn't find an apartment due to Katrina, fortunately my Aunt took us all in for about 6 months until I could get an apartment.

Scott, I think that it was an old 150, it doesn't take much around here to be street legal. I was talking to his workers and they said that when you see a truck pull up that looks like Sandford and Son that it would be him. :D When he did pull up one of his workers said to get out of his way because he doesn't have brakes and he wasn't kidding. :eek: He had backed into a hole and got stuck and it wasn't from lack of traction, it simply didn't have enough power to get out of the hole. :D They did do an excellent job on the slab though.

That's what frightens me.....even without a garage I seem to have ammassed quite the boatyard, literally.

It is funny when I've gone to look at houses the girlfriend says "lets see the bedrooms", or "nice kitchen" and of course I'm "where's the basement" or "nice garage!"

We have had a lot of rain lately and the yard is a big mud bog as you can see from my truck. Every time I go through the mud bog I have to lock her in 4X4 and "Get-UR-Done" :D

Nice truck Steve. Does it have the Duramax?

By any chance did that beater F150 sink in the mud bog? I don't see it anywhere. :D

Thanks, Yes it does have the Duramax engine, so far I'm very happy with it. The F150 got out while the getting was good. However it did get stuck once in a small dried up hole. It got stuck from lack of power not traction. The POS wouldn't spin a tire or climb out of the hole, it just sat there and wouldn't do $hit. :D

I just got back from working on the shop today. The forklift wouldn't go up high enough so I had to improvise and start stacking up pallets. Does these pallets look like they are OSHA approved? :D

:D :D :D That was a good one. The building is 16ft at the eaves and 19'4" in the center.

I have a single rollup door. 12ft tall X 14ft wide.
