West Central Fla

I see more and more guys WC popping up on here, I wonder if we have enough to do a spring get together at Anclote Key some weekend??

Snookerd 12-12-2006 05:23 PM

Re: West Central Fla

Egg- There are 3 or 4 here around Bradenton that would be interested. Capt. Chuck's annual bash in Stuart could be all that we need to plan on, though. It is the "MOTHER" of all ClassicSeaCraft Gatherings. :D

It's at his pad in Stuart the same weekend as the Dania flea market.

Do people go by boat? Is it an invite thing only?

Snookerd 12-14-2006 05:22 PM

Re: West Central Fla

We need Capt. Chuck to answer this one..........Last year he threw out the notice in Jan.. I haven't made it there yet. But, from everything posted, it sounds like a great time. There may be a few here that are not invited :o, but generally if there is a get together, who ever wants to come can come. It goes around the Dania/Miami Marine Flea Market weekend in March-not sure the date. There are a bunch of SeaCrafts there, but not everyone brings their boat. Some of the guys come down from up North too. I'm looking forward to bringing my family's 18SF up from Jupiter if it gets repowered by then ;)

Re: West Central Fla

Pretty sure a cooler full of Corona and chips & dip
in your hands, will get you an invite.
It is a good time BS'n, eatin', and consuming fashionable
adult beverages.

Hopefully Capt Chuck will have us again next year.

See ya, Ken

Re: West Central Fla

I live in St. Pete and would be interested in a gathering. I've seen numerous SC's around the Pass-a-Grille area (shell island). Let us all know when and where. Sounds like fun!

eggsuckindog 01-22-2007 11:01 PM

Re: West Central Fla

We can find someplace in the middle, we have Capt Matt in CR and some Bradenton guys so your probably right in the middle, we''ll get something going in the spring. Since their close maybe we could intice some special guests ;)

NoBones 01-23-2007 11:05 AM

Re: West Central Fla

I wanna come to. :)
If you don't mind us East Coast guys.
St Pete and Clearwater is only 3 hrs from Daytona,

See ya, Capt. Ken

Re: West Central Fla

No problem Bro, Anclote is the last barrier Island left without a bridge or a ferry, just fricken paradise. Camping is allowed no rangers no nothing but water and great fishing. Although to entice our Brandenton brethern if they are interested which I know Snookerd is we may do it at Ft Desoto/ Shell Island, just have to see who wants to come. If Capt Matt wants to come and he does, and if we want to try to entice the Mosely's, Anclote would be much closer for them. Cold as crap right now, so just through up a trial balloon to see how many guys we had over here but daytona is a cake walk. We had some guys around here that just finished some boats that I know would come, just need to get in touch, that one 23 was in Palm harbor which is Anclote area but no posts for awhile, another in Gainesville.

Re: West Central Fla

Doesn't matter to Gail and I we have a good trailer. Last weekend in March no good for us due to a wedding. Last week in July or the first week in Aug, not sure, is annual trek to Carabelle. June 16 to the 25 sailing in the Grenedines, that's all we have planned so far.

Briguy 01-29-2007 02:23 PM

Re: West Central Fla

Ft Desoto area sounds great to me. I can fit 2-3 extra people in my boat for the ride up from bradenton. Count me IN!

Snookerd 01-29-2007 06:58 PM

Re: West Central Fla

Bradenton Bretheren here.......Anclote is the place if that allows the Mosely's to attend :D

Re: West Central Fla

Lets get everyone we can. I can do Anclote key, or perhaps Ft. DeSoto. How about late March during Spring Break or after Memorial Day.

eggsuckindog 01-29-2007 08:28 PM

Re: West Central Fla

Sounds good and before it gets too damed hot.

Briguy 01-31-2007 05:45 PM

Re: West Central Fla

Anclote is too far north to tow my SC with my little Volvo XC90. I already blew my motor once!!!!!!! DeSoto or I can tow up my 17' Montauk.

Aaagghhh Jees, Brian, "Classic SeaCraft" gathering,
leave the Whaler home.
OK, you bring the Whaler and I'll bring the Tin Can. NOT!!
I think Ft Desoto would be great. Good ramp, parking, camping, etc, etc. I might even pack the tent and camp out
for the night. This could be, No it will be a fun weekend.
See ya, Ken

Fort DeSoto camping...sounds good to me if we can get the spaces.

I would be up for camping also.

NoBones 02-01-2007 06:02 PM

Re: West Central Fla

I just got off the phone with Ft Desoto,
They suggest that we all make our own reservations,
those that are wanting to camp. They have no group camping area. No problem with the boats or launching. They also suggested to pick a date ASAP, and check back with them for a count of how many will want to camp as not to have anyone left out. April and May are good times. We could have a
cookout the first night for all that are there. Lets pick a
date that would be good for as many as possible to come.
See ya, Ken
Ft Desoto

Re: West Central Fla

I agree it would help the travelers to be able to stay, I am very familar with the campground- on the map the area marked boat channel all have deep water along the seawall there and nearest the point is best, there is no water at any other sites- the front is a flat that will go almost dry at low for a couple hundred feet.We can check online for availiblity on some weekends in that time frame(I'll try). We have a camper that I can bring over with a frig- they allow 2 tents per site as well. So lets check for site avail. first then try the dates on everybody.

eggsuckindog 02-01-2007 07:30 PM

Re: West Central Fla

I just checked online and the first waterfront site on a weekend I found was 6/9 and 6/16, we can use some interior sites as long as we have access to 1 or 2 waterfront sites for the boats. The sites we need are 168 thru 194, there is plenty of room for extra boats along there but we need at least 1 site or we are docking bunch of boats in front somebodys else's site. They do hold back some but sounds like we may consider Shell Island and just use the showers and bathrooms at the camground, its only 1 night. NoBones and Snookerd if you want to call me my cell is 813 992 5794, might be easier.

I'm game for camping too. 6/10 thru 6/17 is out for me. Spending a week in Jupiter (FL)-bringing the 18 or 23 over to the east coast.
