I had a 1997 175 HP Johnson Ocean Pro carb pig that smoked like a steel mill chimney stack, but she ran like a banchy.

That looks like a maiden voyage. Nice to see her in the water!!! Did you take her for a ride or just a test float? Looks good. Would love to see more pics.

It was a test float to see where the water line was so I could paint the black stripe.Plus the shift cable needs to be adjusted in and no lights are hooked up yet. But what it really was, was I was tired of smoking out the neighborhood running all the old oil out of the line.

But I bet you got more than $200 in that 4 stroke!!!

opps forgot about the $0.50 worth of grease to free the steering pivot point, $20 in spark plugs and $73 for a water pump.

Breathing smoke out of anything other than a good Cuban cigar just isn't fun :(

Let's NOT Highjack this thread into a 4 stroke vs. 2stroke thread. 2 strokes rule :D

I know I posted this awhile back on oils. I have been through 2 computers since then and can not find it, but I have it some where, the complete chemical break down of all the major TCW oil producers. Mercury TCW3 has the best properties of all of the oils made. This chemical analysis
was done by a friend of mine at an undisclosed goverment location. Mercury has the best as far as additives.

took it out today for its first trip away from the dock. You best be holding onto something if your gonna throw the hammer to it, max speed at 5500 was 32mph and that was 3/4ish throttle. Ran it to 6000ish for about 5 seconds so I am gonna have to get a different prop.
