Would you happen to have a trailer to go along with it? Whats cruise, top speed with the 225?

P.S. Just noticed I have 2 red X's in the pics so I must not be seeing all the pics. Anybody else see only 9 pics and 2 red X's?

Re: 1985 23 ft Sceptre

I have a trailer for her but not at that price. I have a buddy who wants it. Top speed is 41 to 43 depending on the seas, which way the wind is blowing and if the top is down.

Re: 1985 23 ft Sceptre

More info: She was purchased new in 1988 at Sanibel Marina. She spent from 1988 until I purchased her in 1997, on the lakes of Minnesota where she was garaged each winter. The owner had her shipped back to Sanibel where he thought he would use her at his winter home. He was older and his plans changed. She is the cleanest original sceptre I have ever seen.

Correction: Purchased new in 1985 went north in 1988. Thanks for the note Peter.

Mark,
They sure do. My father sure is glad your upholsterer chopped them up by mistake. :D

I was in the area, had some extra time to kill. I own a 32 Seacraft CC on the East coast of Fla. Had a chance to look at this boat today, wish I had the $$, wife would kill me to be a two boat owner, its the nicest 23 Sceptre I've seen. Someone will be a lucky buyer on this one! Thanks for your time Matt.

Hold on to her, if my Seafari sells on eBay I'm coming up to see her.

$6k for this great looking boat?

This is another steal (it really is). If you lived up north that boat would be in someone else's driveway (mine) by now.

Re: 1985 23 ft Sceptre

I know this is an aside - but I am looking to do something very similar to what your boat has: seat bases that are used as a fish wells / etc.

Was that stock w/ your boat ?

Do they take up a lot of room ? i.e. narrowing the entry to the cabin too much ?

Do they drain over-board ?

Thx.

If it's anything like my father's '82, and it appears to be identical, those boxes are standard and drain overboard. They are molded into the liner. The passage width between them is all of 2 feet, probably more like 30 inches.

$6K is a deal and a half for that boat, especially if it looks as good in person as it does in pictures.

Re: 1985 23 ft Sceptre

Yes they are stock. Don't take up any room, make great seats and have a ton of storage. They drain overboard about 3 to four inches above the boot stripe.

Based on the pictures Matt has posted, this hull appears to be in "Primo" condition for it's age. I think you need to go asap and check it out ;)

I apologize for not being able to check out the one in Hobe Sound Thrusday. The weather and tying in with Jeffery didn't pan out. I'll wait till after you scope out this one before I contact him again?

I will, let's see how the Seafari does on eBay. Lots of questions and some bids but not up to my reserve yet.

All things being equal a single 200 4 stroke Suzuki can be had for 12k and a nice color gps/ff combo unit and a vhf and you have a reall really nice family boat for under 20k. Matt, hope it sells soon for you.

Hey Matt, any bites? I had a guy look at mine today but I don't think he'll go for it. Lots of questions and some interest on eBay so let's see how it ends.

I have full payment from the new owner just waiting for him to pick her up. If it falls through I will let you know. Best of luck with yours.

From what I am seeing out there now, I would of paid full price for your boat. Unfortunately at the time you were selling I was not looking. :(
