George,
Thats a sweet boat and great price.
Just out of curiosity, did you ever work out a good live well setup?

gbf03 02-07-2007 12:08 PM

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

Will,
Yes, I had a console built with a livewell in the front seat instead of a cooler/box. It works out to be close to 25 gallons. It drains in the transom and never has a overflow problem.
Thanks,
George

Boy-I'm all the way up in NY and I'm tempted-and I already have a boat I love.
Good thing it's not in Jersey or Mass because it would probably be taking up the rest of my driveway!

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

What the he!! I got screwed on the ebay auction. I wish you would of offered me a buy it now istead of telling me you were going to let the ebay auction go on when I talked to you on Thursday.

gbf03 02-25-2007 01:17 PM

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

If I remember correctly I said that I wanted to wait if we were only talking about $7000, in the email I sent you I believe that it stated that I wanted to be in the neighborhood of $8000 in which I offered it to you at $7600, outside of e-bay providing you sent $1000 deposit via paypal. That didn’t happen. I am sorry but I wasn’t trying to screw anybody I just accepted a fair offer.

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

Anyone who got that rig for under 8 walked away with a steal. Most of us spend a decent amount of time working on these old boats-that buyer looks like he's going to be spending more time fishing with that boat. That and the 85 sceptre are two of the better deals I've seen on here in a while. Definitely a buyer's market right now.

gbf03 02-25-2007 01:50 PM

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

Yea it’s definitely is a buyer market right now for houses, boats and cars. Winter is always the right time to buy a boat, but in my position I didn’t see a great deal of time to sell the boat this summer, so I figured a time close to tax return season was pretty good too.

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

i was going to give you the money (7600) until you said you wanted ebay auction to go on. I wasn't going to lose that boat on ebay so i was watching it all day. I was wiling to go up to 8500. Oh well, I'll find another boat from somebody that won't screw me. Thank you.

Rich 02-25-2007 05:34 PM

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

I was thinking you got out bid at the last second. Oh well, there is always another boat out there...

hardhead 02-25-2007 05:43 PM

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

No I was the to bidder at his reserve of 7000. I put my max bid at 8001 and was watching to see if somebody outbid me. Then he must of put a buy it now for 7700 with about 6 hours left. because nobody was bidding against me. I buy off ebay all the time and I know that the last 2 hours is when the auction is going to go. I also talk to him any was going to give him a deposit for the boat but he said he wanted to do the ebay auction. Oh Well enogh bitchin' I find another boat

gbf03 02-25-2007 07:00 PM

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

Once again I didn’t screw you! I am sorry for the miscommunication but I did offer the boat to you at a price of 7600, providing you did a deposit. When we talked it didn’t seem like you wanted to go that route, so it seemed to me like to me you wanted to wait it out, thinking you would get it cheaper. If you would have said yes to the 7600 the boat would have been yours, whose fault is that. Also listed in the criteria for the boat I put “I reserve the right to end the auction at any time” so I don’t feel bad about selling it. The only reason I did a “buy it now” was because it was too late in the auction to end it on my own. Also the party who bought the boat came and saw it, which made me more comfortable selling it to them too. I would hate for you or anyone else to buy something they didn’t approve of. I described the boat the best that I could but it was my opinion vs. who ever else’s, Once again I am sorry you feel cheated, but I believe to say that I screwed you is flat out unfair.

I am so glad your boat sold. I wanted it so bad but couldn't ignore my canes roots. I should have bought it and repainted it green and orange. Nice boat despite the paint job

Many of us happen to like Georges paint job. Sorry you do not. They say surgeons don't have very good people skills. Looks like your their poster boy.

Re: 1978 Potter built SeaCraft 20

You clearly don't get it. Its not about the paint job. Its about football. I'm sure George gets it. Clearly he is a big time Seminoles fan and there is no better game in football than canes vs noles. By the way you shoudn't knock surgeons some day you may need one. Talk about people skills

Your right I think I figured it out last weekend that it was about the Florida Hurricanes after talking about it with Bigshrimpin. My apologies I thought you were being a smart a$$. BTW I have nothing against surgeons....done a bit myself.
