1962 21' free to good home

well guys, reality has a set in and if i ever want to finish college in not going to have the free time to restore the old 21,
She is currently sitting on the origional trailer which had new hubs a year or two ago and it is road worthy (i drove it from Miami to west palm, 100 miles) all the stringers have been removed and the transom is half way out, the boat needs EVERYTHING!!!
it is currently in west palm beach florida and i would like to have it gone by the end of the week, first come first serve, you can reach me at 561-801-6470 or HandleBarMustche@aol.com, i will take some pictures today of how she currently sits and post them later,
P.s. Nestor - maybe you want her back!?!

Ben sorry to hear that, but at least you finished the Seafari! Believe me, if I had a place to work on her I would take her back in a second!! However, if you're in a hurry and need to get her out of your place, I may be able to store her for a little while at the base until some good samaritan can pick her up.

Guys, this is the famous, one-of-a-kind 21 foot Moesly racer mentioned in several other posts. She has an AWESOME hull, with deeper steps than the later boats and looks fast just standing still. Someone should adopt her and get her wet again, she's a piece of boating history! :D

Hell, even the trailer is the one in the photos!!

Ben- Sorry to hear of the need to pass it along. It's like getting rid of a child! I think Carla and Skip are due for this unique boat. One of the originals of the Moesly Racing Era has to make it hard to say no......That boat has got to be either the only one left or 1 of no more than a few. Thanks for seeing that it gets a proper home! ;)

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Nobone - thanks for offering but it turns out they live just 15 minutes from me, no sense in driving it 2+ hours out of the way, so worst case ill hold it till the end of the week till they get back from the keys

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

If it needs a home for a few weeks/months, I'd be glad to hold it here at my house in Citrus County. I can even come get it if necessary.

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Wow, can't believe that such an "original" has become available!!!!!!!!!! I'm just a little excited..... :D

Ben has been kind enough to hold her until we're back in town this weekend. I really do appreciate all the offers, and currently being in the middle of restoring a SeaCraft bowrider, Skip and I are thinking on the 'what, where, when and how' with the 21.....

How many cases of beer & pounds of steak does it take to restore a boat??????????????

No stingers and transom? Does it have the cap deck?
I may be interested. Can you post picks of it?
Thanks

That is twice I missed her :( :( :( :(
If they change their mind, I will leave immediately
to come get it. I'll even pay you something for
it.

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Ken - i take back what i said before if you are really willing to come get it? how soon could you get down here? shoot me an email. kinda stupid for it to have to travel an extra 500miles but i need it gone?

(on a side not the reason i need it gone is because i just (yesterday) bought a 1965 17' whaler montauk, couldnt pass it up and its a total project, but surely wont take ass much time or cash as the 21')

Carla - dont worry, im always right around the corner if you need help!

James - looks like i will transfer ownership to Ken to hold for Carla and if it falls through someone on will have it (just not me), so your next in line.

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Thanks Ben...
I think I was second in line the first time too. Oh well... Heck, I can't even pay somebody for one. The last one I tried to buy, the guy wouldn't sell to me even if I sent him cash up front sight unseen because it was going to take me a 2 day drive to get there and he wanted it gone "yesterday" :(

Then I see all the freakin pogues that collect Seacrafts like some people collect stamps (you know who you are) and it is not making me a happy camper. People even have Seacrafts in the freakin' Mojave desert and a crazy cajun can't get his hands on one 'fer nuthin'

Yea, No Bones needs another boat on his property like a hole in the head :D Though, He's got the storage for sure for the boat and is capable of holding it for Carla and Skip down the road! ;)

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

I hope they fix it up right. Now, like I asked before, where are all the rest of the Mosley hulls? This is the only one that we have ever seen. Yes a few bowriders but I thought there were a bunch? Have they all been brought to the dump?

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Carla - If you want a set of the original homelite's . . . I only live a 100miles (that's california miles . . . so about an hour away) from 4cyclemarine.

http://www.4cyclemarine.com/bearcat.html

The guy who owns the shop is getting old . . . just something to consider . . . if you want to go that route.

Also . . . I'll bet with all the generous folks on the site there may be some interest in a fund raiser to get that boat back in tip top shape. That is if anyone here has some extra boat parts laying around ;)

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Ben do you still have the deck parts you took off or did they get thrown away? I imagine they're gone since it's been a while! If by some miracle you still have them make sure to include them in the hull for when it gets picked up. Are you using the Seafari already or is it still undergoing some last minute details? I'd like to hear how it trolls with the tower! :D

FYI, I collect them because I can! This boat is not an addition, just a favor for a friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So don't get your feathers ruffled.

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

Ben, Ken,

If there is time constraints on getting it moved, surely SOMEONE on this list can move it quickly from place to place. I say that urgently because just two years ago I had a chance to pick up for free an abandoned 23' Savage I/O and passed it up for lack of a place to put it (it was in terrible shape, but intact fiberglass), and it got bulldozed and loaded into a large dumpster. I cried that day.

Re: 1962 21' free to good home

I've just gotten off the phone will Ben, and it is all set, HE WILL HOLD THE BOAT for us to pick up this weekend.
He is also gathering up all the 'extras' that he still has.

Thanks for everyone's input and assistance.

James, your chance will come sooner or later. If is was meant to be it would have happened. The boat is going to the original family, what more needs to be said.
No hard feelings either. If I come across a deal I will let you know, Ken
