Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
If this shows up twice sorry, the first post went ???
If this is a tacky post sorry. Delete it. However I have found out networking is a good way to find something. Looking for a 23 Sceptre. Project boat, but will consider all Sceptres. Must be in Florida. The reason for asking is I check all the regular spots, however in the past I have found good project boats that are in the back yard/lot just waiting for someone to ask if they are for sale. Any postings can be here, and all buyers will get a chance at the boat. Thanks. |
Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
Rather than start my own thread I thought I'd add to this one, hope you don't mind since we are looking for similiar help but not exact, so maybe we can both benefit.
First time poster, great site! I have just been introduced to the old Seacrafts and want one badly (and soon). Looking for a 23 like the Solitude. I've written Peter but have not had a chance to talk to him on the phone. I love everything about this boat and would most definitely make an offer, but I'm in Florida so don't know that it's practical. Does anyone know of anything similar in Florida? I'm looking for the older Potter Hull, I/O, 23 Scepter/Tsunami, under $15,000. Not really looking for a project boat, but also not looking for a completely re-done boat that is overly expensive. I have 3 kids under 12 years of age and we'll be using it mostly to run around in, tubing, wakeboarding and eventually fishing inshore/offshore. It will be kept in the water in a slip. I've searched all the online places and have only come up with this, Project Boat. It's just down the road from me and I went to see it. It is in VERY rough shape for the $8900 he is asking... at least it seems that way to me. He's a very nice fellow though :) Anyway, thanks again for a great site! |
Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
There is one on boat trader online in St. Pete area, did you look at that.

Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
No I didn't. The only one I saw listed for over there was a center console.

Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
Found it, thanks! I guess it helps to search with a space in Sea Craft, lots more boats turned up :)

I saw this boat yesterday. If any one is interested I will be happy to give you the details. I have no interest in the boat.

Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
Island Trader,
I think I talked to you about my old 23. The new owner wants a lot of money for it but it has a 3 yr old 4 stroke Yamaha on it and bottom paint. Might be a good boat for Bryan D if you could talk the owner down to a realistic figure. It was in perfect restored condition when I sold it to him several years ago. Here's the link to the pic. http://www.classicseacraft.com/197623sceptre/index.html |
Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help

Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
For some reason the link to those pictures doesn't work for me That70sboat, are they available somewhere else? Do you know what he was asking for it?
Thanks, Bryan |
Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
You are correct for some reason the file does not work. However try this address. This is where I found the boat the first time.

Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
Bryan did you ever look at the boat in FM, and the one in St. Pete?
|
Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
No, I'm currently in negotiations for that 1977 Inboard Savage in Virginia that was posted here on the site awhile back. If that falls through I'll be looking again and may try to contact the guy over your way.
|
Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
If this is the Savage inboard in the water, I almost purchased that boat in Va back in December but was afraid as the boat had sat in the water almost every day of its life with a few exceptions, and the last several years were in fresh to brackish water. There were also some other reasons that I did not purchase her. LEt us know what happens though.

Re: Florida Sea Craft Owners...Help
Actually I think it's been sitting in a field for the last 5 years. I'm supposed to have it on Saturday and will keep everyone updated. I would love to hear from other Savage owners out there... especially the inboard ones, I think we are a pretty small club :)

Island Trader, I am selling my 23 scepter. the boat is an 89 with a 2000 250hp yamaha. it is in very good shape. I do have the fuel tank out and was doing some modification work below deck (relocating the batteries, removing the live well, ect. nothing major). The boat is located in englewood fl,.
