first fishing trip of the year
First FISHING trip of the year.
I take my brother in law. My boat, my spot, my pole, his fish 48" 45 lbs. We stay out too late so I get no brownie points with wife. Go figure http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...toney/bob1.jpg |
Re: first fishing trip of the year
The ol'dog house is always better with a 48" cow on the wall...
Nice fish.. |
Re: first fishing trip of the year
Nice bass Stoney

Re: first fishing trip of the year
that is a shame you kept that fish, in a few years when the stocks colapse and people wonder where all the fish went, they should look back on all of the big breeders that were kept.
amazing that some people celebrate nature by killing it...kinda ironic huh |

We have enough dad gum laws already. Hook and line fishermen could never wipe out a species alone! Maybe your just jealous? |

Re: first fishing trip of the year
Stoney went fishing and caught a beauty of a bass!!!
He did not go out killing(nets go out killing), he went fishing. This ~18 year old bass had a choice, swim away or take the bait and rub out the line another time. After 18 years this bass got careless/suicidal/out-of-luck or Stoney crew out smarted him. I applaud Stoney crew and the bass!!! btw; Looks like KMODI is still pissed that you came in late ... :D :D |
Re: first fishing trip of the year
Stoney - +++ Gorgeous Fish +++
and, Kmodi - some facts - a - that fish was a perfectly legal keeper b - recreational fishing is NOT hurting the stock c - if you want to legitimately gripe at something, aim it at the large scale commercial herring fishing - where they sweep the sea with nets, with mesh size small enough to catch the herring, and sweep up Tons of larger "by-catch", cod and stripers included - which, because they're not liscenced for, they pitch overboard - DEAD I've seen the pictures, on other websites, of miles long streams of dead stripers, pitched over "by-catch", from the herring boats.... but all the lobstermen love to have herring for their trap baits, so there's a big and constant market for it, growing in size with exporting herring as food to other countries. If you want to hit a target - try aiming at the right target, first!!! rant over... :( :D Bill |
Re: first fishing trip of the year
Strick - he might want to try www.PETA.org instead of the basket-weaving site... ;)
Great catch Stony... Congrats.. ;) |
Re: first fishing trip of the year
Great way to start the season!
There is nothing wrong with catch & filet as long as the fish goes on your plate. I eat fresh striper twice a week in season and I highly doubt it puts a major impact on the stocks if recreational fisherman take a few home. Isn't this why we have regulations...? |

Re: first fishing trip of the year
Finster,
By the way it was caught in your back yard, Harvey Cedars. |
Re: first fishing trip of the year
I hate to rain on the hating but Kmodi is in fact a very talented angler that has caught and released trophy fish all over the word. It's too bad too because it's much more fun to belittle people with different views when you know nothing about them. Sorry about that.
I don't let the government define my ethical parameters but if you do, good luck to you. In addition to killing +28" stripers, the government says you can smoke cigarettes, get to it. |
