DeSoto Fest
I just want to say thanks to everyone that I met at the gathering on Saturday. What a fun time and a great bunch of Seacraft Nuts.
Thanks to everyone who brought there favorite dish and cooked up a storm. If for no other reason, you should come to one of these for the food alone. ;) |

Huge fresh shrimp, grouper, tri-tip, steak, chicken, and lots & lots of sides, snacks ... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...-07Nov-012.jpg And of course, the RED BOOK, with Mrs. NoBones & IslandTrader. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...-07Nov-005.jpg Only downside ... the time went too fast. |

Re: DeSoto Fest
A big thanks to all who organized, arranged and brought the delicious food and snacks to the gathering at DeSoto. It was a wonderful weekend. Carl and I enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. The members who couldn't make it sure missed a very special time. All the food was fantastic and we pigged out on Ken's delicious shrimp.

Re: DeSoto Fest
Today, we pulled out the snow plow and pulled "early season" maintainence. The spring event can't come soon enough - even if I have to shovel my way to Florida with my bare hands.
Glad you guys had a good time. |
Re: DeSoto Fest
great pix guys and gals.thats a fine line-up of boats, looks like y'all had a sweet time. that water sure is pretty and how about a fishing report!
|
Re: DeSoto Fest
Looks like fun! Wish we could have made it but weddings that and this weekend.
|
Re: DeSoto Fest
this was a great weekend, as stated by a few, where did the weekend go. the food, the people all fantastic, and the collection of the boats. we are ready for long point . |
Re: DeSoto Fest
Wow! Great seeing the regular crew (Dixon & Susan, Carla & Skip, Ken and Patti, Denny, Carl & Jeanne, Duane, Bill, and Brian) and meeting Islandtrader, Skiblet, and Tony. Even though we have had 2 CSC events on our West coast, the East Coast crew really represented as good or better than our West Coast group, both times. Thanks for towing the boats across the state guys. The bar has been set up there pretty high for food! Brian, next time put more pepper on the cocktail sauce , it was way too mild :D. Tony's recently rebuilt 88 23SF Tracker ranks up there with Otto's as a quality Tracker rebuild. WE HAVE CREATED A "CULTURE" WITH OUR CSC GATHERINGS THAT NEEDS TO BE EXPERIENCED BY EVERYONE ON THIS GREAT WEB SITE! IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN, YOU NEED TO GET TO OUR NEXT ONE..........

Re: DeSoto Fest
First off, I'm not a Seacraft owner now but I could see myself being one as time and finances allow. I still have plenty of work ahead of me on my current restoration.
I camped at Ft. Desoto last weekend and admired your boats from the boat channel and in the ICW as I passed by throughout the weekend. I recognized many of your boats (maybe from FS Forum? Maybe from here.) as soon as I rounded the corner and I figured there must be a Classic Seacraft gathering. I thought I'd drop by and compliment you on all the good looking boats. You know your boat is unique when somebody like me recognizes it at first sight from pictures posted on the internet. I'd also like to thank Egg Sucking Dog and any of you that gave me advise when I was restoring my '76 Proline 24 guide series a while back. I never could have done it right without the help I received in various forums. And cheers to the guy in your group who raised his beer to me as we passed by. I'm kicking myself for not walking down there, but we had a large group with lots of kids and every time I thought I was going to get away something came up. |
