1977 Seacraft Savage for Sale

Partially restored, runs great now but needs all the cosmetic work an original 1977 boat would need. Asking $11,900 firm.

Here is the original FOR SALE thread that I bought the boat from...

RARE 23' straight inboard -center console SAVAGE

Here is the tread that I started when taking delivery and replacing the motor...

77 23' Savage

I love the boat but found with 3 kids and a wife that want to be included that it's just not the right fit for us. So rather than continue to put money in, I've just decided to take the loss and give it up to someone who can enjoy it as is, or continue the restoration. She really is a great running boat. CALL or EMAIL any time (321) 684-9144 or bryan@dolnik.com - Thanks, Bryan

Original console completely redone, just waiting for instruments and accessories. Brand new binnacle controls and Hynautics Steering Helm installed September 07. Hydraulic steering works perfect.

New 350 Vortec Inboard professionally installed in October 2007. Motor is manufactured by Indmar and was purchased from E-Basic Power. Motor is still under factory warranty!

Fuel tanks were inspected and cleaned at the same time. We used the original transmission and with about 20 hours on the motor now all seems fine with it.

My daughter at the helm. Not shown is a brand new clear plexiglass windshield, fabricated from the original, that is now installed. Also I've polished and re-installed the original rod holders where you see the empty holes on the starboard side.

Bryan,

Looks like your daughter is bringing the boat into Turkey Creek. Does this mean the boat is at Palm Bay Marina?

I'm not in the market (too much time away from home and too many house projects pending :(), but I would love to see it some time when I'm home(Satellite Beach).

I'll make contact as I know my schedule and see when it's convenient for you.

Lloyd

Ok, here are some more pictures. As you can see the leaning post is in pretty good condition, all I did was re-varnish the rod holder section and clean up the aluminum and vinyl.

There are two brand new AGM batteries which were installed in September 07, along with a new battery switch and combiner. The Racor fuel filter is also new.

Here she is sitting in the water, the bow pulpit is not on but I'll probably be installing it in the next day or so just to get it out of storage.

Here's the interior cabin, hard to get a good picture in there but it's relatively clean. All the original teak has been removed and sanded, ready for varnish. The teak rod holders from the stern are also ready for varnish and in great shape after a thorough sanding. The cabin door and the teak under the railing are the only things not removed yet.

Wow nice seacraft, I wish It was for sale a year ago when I did my Savage Outborad conversion. It would have saved me a ton of $$$.

I really need to get this sold, is my price not reasonable? New motor still under warranty, what could be better than that?

If you are worried about getting it home from Florida I used http://www.uship.com/ to get a great rate when I brought it down from Virginia.

Brian,
It's a great boat, and if finances where different, I would jump on it myself. It's not you or the boat, these are really tough times to sell boats, especially in FL.
The market is flooded, and there are not that many buyers out there right now, mostly tire kickers.

Re: 1977 Seacraft Savage for Sale

Thanks for the quick reply John. I understand the market is rough, that's why I priced it so low. I guess I'll just have to be patient. I guess on the positive side at least I get to continue using it while I wait :) Sure is a smooth riding boat!

Everything in Fla is slow right now, don't shoot the messanger though, I have enough holes already :D

Re: 1977 Seacraft Savage for Sale

Had a gentleman come out to take the boat out for a ride this weekend. We talked about me possibly taking 10k for her. I'm really hesitant to let it go for that low as I already have much more than that in it, and with a brand new motor (not re manufactured) that is still under warranty I don't think you can buy better piece of mind in an older Seacraft like this.

So rather than keep dragging this out with me not really getting to use the boat for it's intended purpose (offshore fishing), I'm going to offer her up for $10,500 for the rest of February to forum members and friends. If not sold after that I'm going to go ahead and finish the restoration and keep her.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Bryan

For the diff between 10K and 10.5K shows me that you want to keep her.

Keep her and good luck with the restoration! :)

I agree with Nick. You already have her priced too low. Don't give it away. I think that Savage would be a great family boat. Put a hard top on her like the one in the picture below, then add some seating for the wife and little ones.... and you will be good to go. You can even put a canvas enclosure on a set up like this with see thru visibility and everyone will stay warm. There's no such thing as a perfect boat.

Well we TALKED about 10k, but he didn't actually make the offer otherwise he probably would have gone home with it :)

Thanks for the pic of the top Strick, I've been trying to decide what kind of top to put on it and that is definitely one of the options I like.

Bryan's got her listed on Ebay, cheap.

Hopefully somebody here can pick her up and help out a fellow member in the process. I would bid on her, but my wife would throw me out and keep my boats.

Re: 1977 Seacraft Savage for Sale

I`m with Nick n Strick. Your almost done. I can`t see the forward area and am not familiar w/ the Savage. Is there room to make some I or L shaped rear facing seating up front for longing gazes from kiddies and sweetie at the suave capt? Express style. So rare. So inboard. So cool. Please reconsider. Who gets more respect than the single screw folks who can back down into a slip.

Damn I really want this.

I guess this shows how slow the market is. No bids, and at that price it was a steal.

That could be an offshore machine....you could even hang a kicker on the back in the center of the transom....I can't believe nobody bought at that price. If I didn't already have two Tsunami hull in my yard I'd buy it

Did this ever sell? I PM'd owner but no response?

Re: 1977 Seacraft Savage for Sale

Hi Ryank, I didn't get the PM for some reason.

I took the boat off the market but would still like to sell it... really can't believe my wife is not making more of a fuss over it since I now own 2 boats, the Seacraft and a 30' sailboat. They are both conveniently slipped right next to each other and I'm kind of enjoying having both of them. I actually put a Bimini top on the Seacraft and we used it this weekend to take the kids tubing. Don't know how long I'm going to be able to get away with this 2 boat thing though :)
