I can't beleive all the Seacrafts for sale!

I am seeing more than ever in the past week, here, Craigslist, yachtworld, boattrader etc...and they are all at great prices comparatively. Those with premium Seacrafts asking premium prices will be tough sells. However there are alot of folks looking for SC.

The entire industry, both new and used is dead right now, especially in FL. The project boats are mostly under 1000, and anything that has a 5 year or older motor is having a hard time getting much past 10k. A lot of boat for the money to be had right now.

So why can't I find the 20 open that's is turnkey for under $4000, and with a new wengine with less than 50 hours, T top, livewell, new trailer outriggers?

Owned by a little old lady that just drove it to church and back :D :D
Oh and right down the street from me with a full tank of gas!!!

Just dreaming

But I am looking for a 20 open that needs some TLC without power

There was one on craigslist in tampa not too long ago, with a trailer, in that range.
Happy hunting :D

Just look at the chart of Brunswick stock symbol BC or West marine symbol WMAR. That should give you some indication where the boating market is headed. CNBC just had an expert on the tube predicting $120 for oil practically as a lock.

My local Contender dealer has a brand new 31 fisharound on his lot for about 9 months. T top, twin 250's etc. I called and they said perhaps they could knock off 10k from their 219k asking price last March. They are blowing the boat out with "0" hours for 155k now. IMO it will get alot worse at least here in Fla. :D

That is pretty much what I have seen,
A boat, even a seacraft, is not an investment, it is a luxury. When things get tight, they are usually the first thing to go.

FYI...the boat in Tampa needs a transom before any motor should be hung on it. I think that is more project than Jorge is looking for. I might bite if he was selling for what it's worth. Until then, the search continues!

I went and looked at that boat a few months ago. Parked behind a big industrial building, backed up to the water in St Pete. Real nice (gigantic) fella selling it. It is a major project though. Some of the previous work that was done on that boat was poor to say the least. For the right person and a better price, it would work however.
There is a nice one just south of us for sale right now for like $9.

Botapeje.....No puede marta el bicho malo.

Not from PR. Just a tampa boy. My granddad used to tell me that phrase everytime he pulled through illness. Means "you can't kill the bad bug." I plan to name my first SeaCraft el Bicho Malo. So it doesn't sink.

There may be lots to look at on the East coast, but none on my side of the country. I would like to find a 20' that needs a little restoration. I live on Puget Sound and have yet to find any kind of Seacraft within 1500 miles of me. The local Craigs list averages probably 250 boat listings per day, not one Seacraft in eight months searching. I really do not look forward to driving all the way to Florida and then towing one all the way back.
