Re: Savage Project

This is the boat that Bobby at G-Craft worked on last year. It started life as a Sceptre. Deuce is my son-in-law's SeaCraft. My SeaCraft is ENDURED.

Have not had it in the water yet. Yes, Yamaha 4 stroke 150's on an Armstrong bracket. Did not raise the floor, hope the flotation bracket does the job.

Maybe we can "get it wet" in the two weeks. I will post some pics of how it "sits".

Bobby G. does some fine work!

Re: Savage Project

yes he does....is that Vivid Red Awlgrip??

76Savage 01-05-2008 08:22 PM

Re: Savage Project

Correct!!! Vivid red.

Bobby G said that was the color for a RED boat. He was right.

I have been very happy with his work and his prices are resonable. Once we see how we like the twin 150's, I am going to let him replace the transom and put a bracket on ENDURED. That is next winters project.

Decided to remove the "glove boxes" and fill in the windshield "grove". This will become additional seating with the addition of cushions and handrails.

Re: Savage Project

Snookerd 01-09-2008 11:29 AM

Re: Savage Project

Deuce-
Go to the Gatherings section for the details. We are orchestrating the Mother of all gatherings. We are approaching 100 people being apart of the event. It is a great time to see the most vintage SC's in one place. The original Founding Family in attendance. Boatpix.com will be doing pictures. Raffle with big giveaways. Long Point is a camping area next to Sebastian Inlet.

GOT IT WET!!!!

That boat is beautiful!!!!!!! How does she sit with the stock floor and the pair of yammie F150s???

76Savage 01-14-2008 06:03 PM

Re: Savage Project (update)

The floor drains were pluged and rerouted back through the transom. With four people in the back, got a little water through the scupper flap. Had a piece of trash holding the flap open.

Most impressive was the "power turns" At 30 mph, could not make it "bogg down". It slowed to 23 mph in the turn, then back to speed as soon as it straighten up.

Also, my 320 pound self could stand on the corner of the bracket and not get my feet wet.

Nice looking rig Deuce! I have always liked the Savage layout. You'll get many years of enjoyment for sure.

One thing here thou, impressive as she looks, I'm having a difficult time comprehending these numbers. Are you sure it's 2.7 GPH @ 32 Knots cruise >> I think you mean MPG :D

76Savage 01-15-2008 10:38 AM

Re: Savage Project (update)

Capt. Chuck,
You are correct. it is 2.7 mpg (fat fingers and little keys)

Also, I don't know about this deal of 4 strokes not having a "hole shot". You better be holding on when you turn those 150's lose. She jumps out of the water.
