A Long Way in a Small Truck
http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...361_Medium.jpg
http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...366_Medium.jpg Well I just rolled in this morning . . . 3460 Miles Cross Country in under 3.5 days :) What a relief it's over. The Seafari is now on the East Coast. The trip was pretty much uneventful . . . except for a little fog in Illinois. I had to pull over and spend the night at 3:30am. Finally the fog lifted around 10am. http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...370_Medium.jpg |

Re: A Long Way in a Small Truck
well done on the drive! I've pulled a boat from one coast to the other three times now - an uneventful crossing is a very good thing. All three of my towings across the country were done with the same engine pulling the boats as you used (at least I assume that's a straight-6 Jeep engine in that truck).

Re: A Long Way in a Small Truck
Glad to see you made it safely!! Gotta love that truck,I had one with the straight 4.0 6 cylinder, and if I couldn't kill it,it's gotta be bullet proof!

Re: A Long Way in a Small Truck
Hey Tim.....next time bring a little of that warm weather ;)
Will we see the Seafari in Chatham this summer? |
Re: A Long Way in a Small Truck
Hey Tim, Hate to see the ferrari, er, Seafari leave the left coast but glad the trip went well. You thought that corn field was a shallow lake, huh? :D Probably gettin' there just in time to find the early striped big boys at Monomoy Rips  -- full transom will be great out there... Good luck with the old/new stomping ground. Gillie

But a friend for life you are. See you in a few days when you bring the black boat over for that minor surgery. strick |
Re: A Long Way in a Small Truck
I know the boat can take the salt...but I am not sure that Jeep will last through the winter salt up there for too many seasons. Save the Jeep

Big,
Glad you made it safe and sound all the way here. When you get settled and squared away, we will have to catch up and do some fishing. They are starting to nibble down my way. JC |
