Vintage Sea Craft Advertisements late '70's

My Dad has been a subscriber to the Florida Sportsman since the early 1970's. Growing up we would always keep each issue to reference to or simply go back and read some articles. Well today the mag is a far cry from what it used to be but we still get it in the mail monthly. A few years ago I was going back to pull some old issues just to reread and thought the site members might like to see some of the old Sea Craft ads. I'll post a few and if you guys want I'll try to post all of them. I'd like to do the same for classic mako once they are back up and running.

here are a 20' master angler and a 23' inboard.

If you can post some ads, you will have successfully beat Finster by almost 4 years. That punk has had my father's vintage Saltwater Sportsman mags since Feb '04.

In the current issues pulled from the archive I have a 23' IB Savage, 23 Scepter IB, 18, 23 Super Fisherman & 20 MA. I know there is one for the 27' master angler, sefari 20' & 25' and the classic 20'.

here are the links again from above. not sure why they are gone?

Please show more. Really appreciate seeing the MA 20 ad. Would like to see one with the large console.

That would be awesome Red20,
Can't tell you how many times I've zoomed in on the pics in the brochures to try to get a better look at stuff. Like right now I'm trying to make some rod holders for the gunwales from only a small picture...Got any Seafari ads . Look forward to seeing more. -- McGill

Gillie - did I ever send you the 2 Seafari brochures I have? The 4 page one from Moesly era is on Carla's web site, but I have a newer 6 page one from about 1972. Can e-mail to anyone else that wants them if you'll PM me your e-mail address. Denny

Hi Denny,
Yes you did send them - I refer to them all the time, even use the line drawing as a base for imagineering changes like my seating and cooler arangements. They've been an invaluable resource. Thanks again.

Two questions:

The brochure says "With twin outboards up to 500 HP" Is this correct for a 23'??

What's unique about the 23' model "Sport Diver"??

Re: Vintage Sea Craft Advertisements late '70's

I read that on one of the 80's brochures in the literature section as well. Is that for a Potter?

That is correct!!
As for my 1970 SF it was rated for 225HP
Remember guys back in those days the rating of
HP was at the flywheel not at the prop.
Prop rating of HP is standard through out
the industry today...
Sport Diver had tank racks and a swim platform..

See ya, Ken

Re: Vintage Sea Craft Advertisements late '70's

My '83 20' was the sport diver model. It came with nice fiberglass tank racks that were removable. I never used them and neither did the original owner (whom I purchased from)and they sat in my garage for many years. When I finally sold the boat I passed the racks onto the next owner. I recently ran into them up in Stuart one weekend and they mentioned they still had the racks but like the rest of us have them in the garage.
