Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
That red bottom makes the seafoam green(?) really pop. Looks like you've got a SC collection at your marina. Very nice work.
|
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Aquamist green, kinda funny really, that is not my normal slip, didn't think much about it, then saw the boats next to me, good comparison between new and Classic

Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Congratulations on a great restore. Love the colors and the two-tone deck. The swim platforms were a great idea. Gives me something to strive towards.

Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
One question Cayman boy........i noticed your deck drains are "down and out the transom" style as is expected for the model year.....im still trying to decipher whether mine is a '69 model or '70 model.......by any chance can you tell me how your non skid is patterned around the deck drain? ....from this sketch. Thanks in advance!!! Since i bought a project boat that was already someone else's project some things were missing and im going crazy just trying to piece everything together.........and one of those things is correcting the model year....since my title states 79 which mine is clearly not!! I'm rambling but any help would be nice!!!

ShaZaam, Caymanboy!
Very nice, Must fly with that 200 yammie. Congrats on splashing her. |
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Answer to McGillicuddy and realclassic20sf. Deck drain nonskid is similiar to the drawing on the right, soft curves, no hard angles, I sanded all the original pattern off. It moves along, I haven't installed the GPS yet, so I don't know top end, hole punch is impressive, had an overheat at high RPM, I'm cleaning the heads and such, only got 5100 out of it swinging a 19" wheel, this w/e going to put it back in, see if I've solved the o/h issue and figure out why I'm not getting the turns, cav plate is 1/2" above bottom. Any thoughts? Still not possitive I'm getting full throttle throw. First time I've run that engine, trying to get out the bug's out, itsa 1999 OX66. Once I figure out the o/h, I'll chase the rpm issue and do a gps run. this site has been a HUGE help in my refit, looking forward to the changes on the nexy one!!

Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Very, very nice. I like those deck lights. Also, excuse my ignorance, but are those cup holders inside of the console? Clever idea, seems like a decent spot to drop wallet/cell phone/whatever else one would typically put on the dash that is bound to fly off. Or hide your "soda" from the marine patrol.
Is that a Lauderdale Yacht Club flag? I keep my boat at Sundance, right there off Cordova. |
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Thank you very much, the lights are nice, they dim and go white or blue, xcatly what the holders are for! And yes, it is LYC, right around the corner.

Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Your boat is a beauty. I am working on a 1978 20' MA and seeing your finished product has me pumped. The sea foam colored deck is sweet!

Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Performance question, I have a 200 ox66, turning 5200, swinging a 19" blade, she is getting 42 kts, that sound about right?
|
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
May be comparing apples to oranges, but I can consistently reach 47-48 kts when light (2 people, 30 gallons of fuel).
This is with my 175 Opti Pro XS spinning a Mirage 21P at 5600. On a bracket. |
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Zach, did I see you boat sitting in the water over the w/e at Sundance? We were at s/p for dinner. good looking boat!!!!

Absolutely Spectacular,what a beautiful job.

Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
I second the comments, nice job! 2 questions, where did you get the switch panel mounted on the console w/ the Seacraft logo? and is the speaker mounted under and left of the wheel for VHF, stereo or both? Thanks.
|
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
Thank you! Got the panel from scott at Vectorled scott.cambra@vectorled.com, great work panel is awesome. The speaker is a Standard Horizon MLS310, mainly built for VHF, has a small amp in it, it is great also.
|
Re: Refit of a 1970 20cc, my first one
man there are some sharp eyes. I didn't even see the sea craft logo on the switch panel. very nice..
|
