We all know of one that has "gone missing!" It graced these pages but for a brief fleeting moment and has not been heard of since. The word at the time it was to be going under the knife of an EXPERT surgeon of all things SEACRAFT.
Has ANYONE heard as to the current "health" of this elusive "STEED?" Maybe the resident vet knows of what I so humbly refer? ;);) ;) ;) ;)

Lew-

she is just sitting right now...too many irons in the furnace. I did pull the engine and out drive a while back. It will be a while before I get started on her. Sure love the looks of these 25's in the water! for the longest time we had no good pictures of the 25 seafari and now we have plenty!

strick, what were you planning on putting in/on the boat as for as power... did the boat originally have single or twin i/o's.... just trying to compare similar boats... im in the mixed of repowering mine and "surveying" the other seacraft owners... with you redoing another 25 id like to here your opinion on power

Re: 25 foot seacraft gallery

I have been told by a very reliable source (owns three 25 Seafaris) that the boat is best left a stern drive due to lack of forward weight. I have been tempted to put a large flotation bracket and twins on mine but I'm still trying to make up my mind. Mr. Potter made a recommendation of a big stern drive diesel or twins on a seamark bracket. If you go with twin outboards then make sure you move the fuel tank as far forward as possible and put the engines as close together on the bracket as possible. The 25 seafari is supposed to have the best ride and have the best sea keeping ability of any seacraft built...this is just what I've been told by Mr Potter and the other reliable informant. Pm me if you want.

strick, im seriously think that im going to hang a 300 outboard on a floatation bracket... did some research on armstrong brackets and the are supposed to 400 +/- lbs. therefore 3/4 of the engine weight will be floating on the bracket... maybe im thinking down the wrong track? i would think the diesel option would be much heaveir... i currently have a 350 i/o with volvo 280 outdrive i belive the package weighs in the neighborhood of 1200 lbs. so 300 suzuki(604 lbs.) and armstrong bracket( approx. 80 lbs.) seems to be alot less than 1200 lbs... i understand center of gravity will change but am i missing something or am i making it sound better than it should... my .02... i can vouch for the great ride of these boats there has been a few times that i didnt think that i was going to make it home from offshore and the ole seacraft just chugged her way through the slop and found her way home, didnt even foam up my beer...

It's begging for a diesel.

That's reason #2 to own a SeaCraft....their ride, nothing worse than a foamy beer. Reason #1....SeaCrafts just look so damn good!!!!

Cummins/Mercruiser 4.2L ES 320 hp weighs 1015 lbs for the motor, 165lbs for a Bravo One drive, and 65 lbs for the transom group, for a total of 1245 lbs, or just 36 lbs more than what you have now. It won't mess up your CG and potentially have a detrimental effect on your rough-water performance, It will use much less fuel than even a 300 four-stroke Zuke, have a projected engine life of 10 thousand hours or MORE, compared to 2000 for the OB, and cost about $30K installed.

Here it is shown with a Bravo 3 drive. http://www.cmdmarine.com/engines/rec...S300_Large.png

Even if you get 2X the fuel mileage with the diesel, the cost savings at the end of the useful life of the gas engine brings the cost of the diesel down to $25K.

My question is how many of us have put on 2,000 hours on a boat, re-powered and kept the boat?

IMO unless you are commercial or are planning on keeping the boat for ever, diesel still costs to much.

I agree, you could buy 2 Zukes for that, that cabin weighs something and my Sceptre rode heavier in the bow than a CC.

I agree...I will definitely get some more detailed pics this summer.

I think Trayder may already have this on his list of things to do but now there are a few more to put in there.

What I'm really looking forward to though is...
"Here we go again...again"
