More Striped Bass - 35 pounder

Took my 17 year old nephew out late yesterday. He boated this nice 35 pounder on a big white bunker spoon (in snotty conditions). Also, went out again early this am, but the water temperature dropped and the fish got lock jaw.

Fish was caught off of island beach state park beach.

Nice fish!

I just have to get the boat registered to get in on the action myself up the shore from you. Have the spoon rods ready to go...

Happy Memorial Day Peter! Did you motor the 23 all the way down to IBSP from Highlands? In snotty conditions? I think you guys "EARNED" that one, "THE OLD FASHIONED WAY!" Wow! Any fluke/flounder? 20 inches in Jersey, and 21" in NY? Have a good weekend. Part II.

No Mike. We have a house near Barnegat Inlet. It is about a 10 mile ride.

Live lining bunker first light off of Seaside park Friday.
Got um again Tuesady Wednesday same spot. I'm avoiding the weekend fishing, the crowds make it unpleasant at best.
Live lining is so much fun I retired my wire line poles in the 80's.
It's an early morning thing over by 7:00AM.
IT is reported to be very good north of MI right now. It must be good up there because we had no boats from MI down by Seaside.

I was out Saturday well north of MI live lining and didn't get a thing. From what I have heard it is an afternoon bite a little closer to MI than where I was. Just need the winds to let up a little.
