Who Wants one? Original 21.....considering orders.

Please see the link.
My finished 21 on blocks at a friends.
We are producing a mold off the other 2nd 21 (the dirty one in the photos)Not changing anything on the hull, we are also considering lengethening the mold (with the advise of a naval architect and perhaps an additional source...) to produce a longer hull as well.I am serious and not pulling a prank. Sea trial available now on my own personal 21.

Had been marinating way too long, at least 3 years. I was there the week before Mark took the photo last year, before the Conch Brothers Grafitti. The boat had moved since last year, we relocated and floated her.All that was peeking above the water looked like a crab buoy.I couldn't stand it anymore, had to do it saw where there where the state began initiatives to remove the deralict boats, she would have been history soon.

I'm glad there were "strick" orders to guard this boat!
A great salvage job Brian, and I'm sure a lot of work... and definitely more to come. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Let's see, 21's could be made into CC's, or with Seafari cabins ... or ... ???? Lots of possibilities.
Keep us posted!

I don't suppose there was any of the windshield frame left around?

If so I would like to pop a mold off it.

i'll ask does anyone know the history of the boat abd how it ended up there?

Re: Who Wants one? Original 21.....considering ord

A storm! I know some of the history. My disceased friends parents live on Cudjoe 1/2 of the year, we used to visit frequently and fished the area, we found it coming in from a fishing trip last year, according to Bob and the neighbors it had been washed in by a storm, 2-3 years prior.
It was in much better shape last year. Windshield was completely off. The boat was a navigation hazzard as it was only 3-4 inches above the water on normal high tide.

Sure I will help, I have it it is in two pieces but easily repaired, needs to be pressure washed. If you repair and promise to use a release agent you may splash a mold. I also have a couple aftermarket wells, with Hatches, they need to be cleaned up.

that's a great story my wife and i are going to cudjoe key this december for my 40th b day would love to see your boat if your close by i've never been down there before and can't wait

Re: Who Wants one? Original 21.....considering orders.

Absolutely! That guard told me was getting tired of waiting. Several configurations; Original w/ bunks set up for I/O or outboard or CC with small forward cabin (like my personal boat), set up for Outboard. Also like the old dusky cc or contender cc with forward cabin. The original config would be most excellent for a dive boat leaving a huge cockpit. I want for everyone who dreams to have one, to be able to realize and enjoy experience what You& Skip, Terry, Myself and the fella in Hawaii experience. As you will very soon know and recall what a very different ride this beast offers. These are gifts to me, and I wish to gift to others. You are welcome to that windshield frame also, or get Terry to pop a part out for you, if its in your plans! Thanks for the kind words and support. I hope Mr. M finds joy in this also!

I think we all WANT one....
I`m very happy someone saved her, and you seem to have a great deal of knowledge on the deconstrution/reconstruction process. You splashed Blackjack in record time. We all were sad that you couldn`t show off the deepest 21 in the Keys.

Looks like she`ll need a lot of fairing and blocking before you can plug her. Do you want to do a joint venture with an existing builder or go ground up?

I will consider Kittind , just a hull & Cap or finished hull deck & cap, no Power It would depend on the configuration; Original, CC , OB , I/O. etc. Original would obviously be less tooling and less cost. The reason for No Power is I dont want to play that game, look at all of the choices and all of the preferences. I believe some mfg have great hulls but no choice in power

True that on the fairing and blocking/ longboarding. I spent alot of time away from my wife and child building Emma's(My Daughter) Black Jack. I was sad too, I spoke to Carla that day, I was having some major equipment & material issues and was stuck onsite at my clients that week. I am considering all, I have dialoge with many of the most reputable non high volume builders, the boutique boat builders. I am surrounded by so many talented individuals. So yes I am looking for Joint venture, in the interim I can Kit them in different (limited)configurations.Right now with the economy the way it is, I have to be very carefull with the marine industry down at least 65% and more than 1/2 of that labor unemployed. It is Sad. There are lots of opportunities for success and failure. I would be willing offer just a shell ( Bare hull no stringers or with stringers), like what I started with. I may even offer a stitch and glue kit option. Right now I am making it easy and not locking into one specific way, I want to be easy, flexible, open and nimble. Right now, while My partner and me are in full control, We can dictate the pace, to a point.
At the same time we have been getting advice from Naval Engineers. We will continue to pursue dialoge within the industry paralell to producing. I am surprised to have run into a few folks in the industry that are keenly aware of the original hull, it's history, raced alongside it, and it's evolution.

OK Great thread and nice salvage job :cool

We just don’t see boats lying around like that up here.... especially SeaCrafts :o

I really have not seen anything like the 21 in the "new" boat market SO it may be that you have your niche. Not to mention the pedigree is impeccable.

Have you thought about 2-piece vs 3-piece mold? Just thinking about the 23 and 20.

Thanks Ryan.
Not Much, I know it's rare, and it has lots of value, and could command a premium, I don't want to Rape anyone. So it will be more than fair. The goal is for others to enjoy, as I have. For you, it would be even less, You probably don't feel this way, but I still owe you! You are a great man and good soul!
I would love for the Craft to bear some symbolism to the great Mr. M. He Created what is now a great legacy, almost dissapeared, It should live on with credit and glory to him.

If the reverses in the tumblehome will clear we may have a modified 1 piece mold/tool. Looking at the hull shape it appears it would release by pulling up on the bow first and then forward, the boat is a bit wider in mid ship. A high slip release may help in this case. I am planning on infusing the hull, CCBM. I get approached at every stop when trailering or fishing.

About 7 hours, not including the pre planning, It was a little different than we last saw and what we expected. We had to try several strategies, but were were prepared from our planning.. We had 2inch and 3 inch pumps many Tractor tubes and Poly drums. Brownies Third lung, which allowed us to stay under and inflate the floats.

What an amazing project! What a tremendous tribute to Mosely! I am definetly interested in a bare hull sans stringers cap etc. I anxiously await your future posts re progress, costs and time frame etc.

Since the SeaCraft marque is currently owned by Mako/Tracker Marine, what shall you call it? A "Moesly"?

I know of another company that has the word "Seacraft" in it's brand name - Pacific Seacraft, the sailboat maker. So maybe you could ask them and Mako for permission to use the name SeaCraft in conjuction with something else, like "Moesly SeaCraft", or "Classic SeaCraft"?

Captain, I fish out of Ft. Pierce, and Hope to start fishing out of Stuart more often.Usually on Saturdays when the weather (not waves) cooperates. That was the whole idea.....to get out when others can't/won't. To quote the Great Mr. M. " A Great Rough Water Boat". Those that want to meet me or Black Jack.... I will be in Marathon 6-20 >6-27, bending the throttles and letting her eat!

Thank you, we owe it to Mr. Moesly without "HIM, The Source" we wouldn't be here, nutz about Seacrafts. I know Father Frank is diggin' the double entendre . It won't be long, we are very close to being ready, the hull will be flipped and preped to plug and ready for molding very soon. We will hapily sell a hull only, we are contemplating to make a unitized stringer grid/system with wide flanges this can be structurally bonded into the hull bottom, no taping and glassing. I am headed to the keys the 20-27th so we will get a little bit done before then.

I have put some thought into that and have done some domain name searches, I would love to have Moesly and/or Seacraft in the name I will have to get permissions first of course, if Tracker won't cooperate, I will seek legal advice. Moesly Seacraft seems logical, however, he & They would have to oblige.
