Absolutely Ken :D!!! So far.....I told her we are up to somewhere around $214.34, shoot I feel like I've got just about that much in 1 1/2" chip brushes.

Re: Almost finished with the console.

Ken, You and ESD both make excellent points and are correct!!!! The idea is to spread it out over time and have differenf projects going at once.......kinda the baffle with BS routine. When you have a transom replacement, windlass install, electronics improvement, rebuild of the console, etc., etc. it gets confusing for them. However to be quite honest, I really don't want to know the actual $$$ amount either.

Santa SNEAKING in boat parts.

Sorry for the continued High-jacked thread, but the above got me laughing and I can't resist.....

Sneaking boat and motor parts past the wife, also carefully & creatively "cooking the books" on the prices is half the fun of restoring boats!! My wife thinks, SST props cost $35, and my new lower unit was on sale for $89---What a Deal!!!

I know I'm safe w/ my admissions here...on CSC. She would never look here on as she would say "that boring boat site" after all she is on FACEBOOK 24/7 with all of the rest of the wifes/sorority girls....geees.

Those are some of my best "sneaks"

Anybody else go some good ones???

Wait till you die and she sells all your chit to the people on CSC for those ridiculous prices you told her you paid for them http://forums.floridasportsman.com/s...y/biglaugh.gif

Mirage + 100 clams after mail in rebate.

Nice used bimini really was 100 clams. Score.

Furuno 100 clams after instant rebate.

New springs, hubs, wheels, harness, leds etc 60 books of S&H green stamps

Resin, glass, core, thru hulls, pumps, vhf, stereo, livewell, leaning post all covered by federal stimulus program for improved "infrastructure".

Blood , Sweat, and Tears in the driveway: Priceless.

Merry Christmas,
GFS :)

Funny but true. Constant jabbering about boats 24/7 will wear them down and they will tune you out after a while. If you can get to the point were you have 3 boats in various states of dis repair then you are good to go because they have a tendency to not care much after that. Another trick I learned is to buy them an expensive piece of jewelry about 10 days before your next boat purchase.

Ken thanks for the tip about different colors :D

Actually Chuck I have a rider in my will that if she gets an offer from any of you guys for anything from my SeaCraft......she is to multiply the offer by a minimum of 10 to 20 times. She knows what a cheap ass I am, I will shop for days to save a buck, however I don't hold a candle to some of you folks!!!!! As an example, Strick's $829 "find".

Actually it was $821... and then we found about $21.00 in small change inside the cabin so theoretically we paid $800

Nice work on the consel BTW

Like I said.....I really don't want to know the grand total, however I do know what the Raymarine C120 and the Airmar 20 degree tilted through hull transducer cost.....plus the variables, fiberglass supplies, new switch panel, buss bars, battery switch, new battery cables, wire, Blue Seas ACR, paint, gas to and from the supply houses, etc. Hummmm, I guess it kinda adds up. I would guess around 2.345 S&H Green Stamp books.....minimum. :D

Re: Almost finished with the console.

Nice Job Bro! Just remember I know what you paid and I live right around the corner! I'll keep it on the down low if you do the same! Another prop just showed up at the door step last week but Levi knows to just take it out to the shop before mom finds out. Wasnt so lucky on the 2 new reels that showed up on friday! Fuel flow meter installed yesterday. I got a bad case of the summer time itch! I think calm winds and warm days should heal it! No cover pics?

DonV 02-08-2010 06:24 PM

Re: Almost finished with the console.

I know about the "itch"!!! It's absoutely perfect today in the Keys......so the itch is getting worse. Sorry, but how was work today??
