1975 Seacraft MA

Looking to purchase a 1975 MA for the console. It has a 1975 175 Mercury with a bad cylinder. Is this a desireable motor to try to resale or even repair. I want to swap out my older style console and then resale the rig. Any opinions or suggestions.
Thanks,

1976 V175 was a great motor, but it's probably not worth saving. If it was used in Saltwater . . . it's likely impossible to pull apart.

If this is the one I think it is...I corresponded with the guy on that boat a couple of months ago, when I started asking questions about the title etc. he told me it was sold. Now it is buy the trailer and haul off the boat with it (no title).

I would run the numbers with fish and wildlife and figure out what is going on.

Thats the one, I talked to TPWD today and said noway they would title the boat. I am thinking about buying it for the console and just disposing of the boat. I looked at it last year at another location. Are you still looking for the floor hatches. Maybe we can work a deal with the guy.

In Florida, if the cost of the materials you put into a hull restoration equals 51% or more of the value of the restored hull, you may title it as a homemade boat, and have a new Hull Identification Number assigned.

That answers why my boat has a "home made" hull number versus a Seacraft designation. I've been wondering how that happened. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Hey et23,

I would be interested in spare parts from that boat, hatches, the splashwell door, etc.. If you pick it up please take some pictures.

Thanks,

Rich

Any ideas what I would have to do put master angler cap on standard 20 center console hull? would obvilusly need new floor attached to the hull but not sure what other mods would be needed. If it would work I might be inerested in the cap and rear compartments.
