20sf leaning post size?
In the future I will be changing the seats out for a leaning post & was curious from those of you who have already done the change. What size/style did you go with & what changes would you make in hindsight? There are so many out there new & used, so I'd like to have a ball park size to be looking for in case one comes up that I can't let pass. Also any ideas as to what the original seats would be worth? :D

Re: 20sf leaning post size?
Original seat value - $0 (tossed both of mine in the dumpster, where they belonged).
Optimum replacement - Birdsall Mini Rocket Launcher (32") - with whale tail and under seat storage bin (and, yeah, it's gonna cost some money). |
Re: 20sf leaning post size?
Thanks, your 20 is hooked up! What size t-top did you go with? Safe to assume that's birdsall as well?

Re: 20sf leaning post size?
If you like to go offshore, and you're over 40 yrs old, get a bolstered leaning post with fold-down seats. They are an absolute blessing for your back running on plane offshore.
Robalo has these as an option on the 24', 26', and 30' center consoles. http://texasmarineyachtclub.com/frac...ingPost_08.jpg Here are the Wellcraft versions: http://www.wellcraft.com/image_vault/0/0/5/005708.jpg http://www.wellcraft.com/image_vault/0/0/4/004920.jpg And finally the current SeaCraft versions: http://media.tmgcreative.com/2009/Se...mg2985_700.jpg http://media.tmgcreative.com/2009/Se...mg2975_700.jpg |

Re: 20sf leaning post size?
I would look for something no wider than your console or T-top supports if you have them. A little storage box is nice under the flip up cushion. Rod holders are nice as long as their placement doesn't let the rods hit the t-top. If your a live bait fisherman, then a bait well would be nice.

Re: 20sf leaning post size?
I have the same 32" Birdsall one on my 20 and it fits perfectly. You definitely want the storage bin underneath the seat.

Re: 20sf leaning post size?
Those might have been factory. Have one on my 18 also.

Re: 20sf leaning post size?
I'm looking to replace my reversible helm seat on my 20Sf with a leaning post. Leaning (no pun intended)towards the Birdsall or the Taco Neptune II or III.
any opinions on the Taco? |
Re: 20sf leaning post size?
I would be interested in your reversable helm seat when you replace it. Thanks
