Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
I am surprised that there hasn't been ANY interest in this boat? The price seems high but the boat was appraised and this was recommended as an ASKING price. Somewhat motivated seller so please reach us if you have any interest.
This was my stepfathers' boat, he passed away last year. Will probably go to a local dealer/broker soon so a better deal could be made before that. Any reccomendations from any of you on how to find a buyer? Thanks.... Brian. |
Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
Bartdog,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've seen your stepfather and this boat written-up in various fishing articles as well as a YouTube video for the Raymarine autopilot? In any case, very sorry to hear of the passing of your stepfather and best of luck with the sale of the boat. If possible, and this is the boat I'm thinking of, you may want to post links to the video and articles - it seems that boat could raise some fish. Good luck. |
Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
The boat market in general is about as deep in the weeds as anyone I know can seem to recall, so don't take it personal. Many out of work guys are selling, a lot of guys who are working are sitting tight boat-wise and just trying to get out of debt, and quite a few fellas who have a good chunk of cash in the bank are trading up to bigger/newer boats, and often getting pretty good (sometimes crazy) deals. That said, and from I've seen and heard, I/O's seem to be a bit better accepted/more sought after in the Northeast. Tropical salt water boaters tend to shy away from them due to real and/or perceived maintenance issues (usually brought about by leaving the boat in the water for extended periods). Maybe try Boston craigslist, boatrader, etc.? Very nice looking boat BTW...maybe add some pix of the interior, engines, electronics, fish caught, etc.? Good luck!

Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
Do you have any performance numbers, speed, GPH? Thanks.

Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
To Echo some of the other comments...the sellers market is in the tank.
If you check CL you will see that what is available out there for 29k...then ask yourself (taking the emotion out of it) would I buy this for 29? If you don't get any calls, the price is to high. That being said it is a very nice rig, and I am sure it will sell once you sort out the pricing. |
Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
Yeah you are about 5 years too late getting rid of this one. But boy when you see 1 like this you know it was well taken care of. No bottom paint that puts it in a class of itself right there. :) The number is not unheard of you never know, beautiful SeaCrafts like this one can always suprise you in this ---tty market

Re: '79 Sceptre one owner with twin I/O in Pensacola
Still for sale..... now asking price about $15,000
Yes this is the boat involved with Raymarine products testing and video. Also won many awards, was featured in articles, and caught a LOT of fish. The boat has been used only a few times in the last (almost) two years, but is kept clean, fresh and ready to go. Thanks to the Sea Craft community for this forum, etc. You guys are certainly dedicated to the boat and the brand. |
still available..... price dropped!
Boat is still available and in great condition. Drastic price drop to $13,000
Truly a wonderful boat that deserves a new home. Thanks..... |

I found this on a fishing forum........." I fished with Steve a couple of times and enjoyed having him on my ride.......Commander Steve has set records that probably never will be broken...and it was on a 23' SeaCraft. He certainly knew billfishing."
It would have been great to have had him on CSC to discuss his history on his SeaCraft. Here is the link to one of the YouTube videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo-V9D8gkXk |
Any performance data to share ?
1. Fuel burn and speed at cruise 2. WOT fuel burn and speed |
I called and left the guy a message by phone and i emailed him, no response yet. I hope this isn't a ghost.
|
Hey all..... Definitely not a ghost, just do not check this site often. I have spoken with Mike aka "entorauge" who was interested in the boat, but was simply located too far away.
Sorry I do not have performance numbers such as fuel consumption, etc. Please don't hesitate to reach us if anyone has any questions or would like more info..... Thanks. |
asking price now reduced to $13,500.

I just picked up a sceptre from a best friend of mine literally 1 mile away and i had to jump on it. If it wasn't for my friend selling his sceptre i would have been all over this boat i think it is worth the drive. Seller sent me some photos and this boat is a real beauty. I assume this boat will be gone soon.

Is this the boat featured in Florida sportsman a few years back in an article about bill fishing the panhandle?
|
RE:
Is this the boat featured in Florida sportsman a few years back in an article about bill fishing the panhandle? Yes, the boat is well known in the billfishing world in the southeast. |
Interior pictures would likely be useful. If condition as good as exterior that would be a plus towards getting people to look at it / buy the boat. Good luck with the sale, nice rig.
|
Did this boat ever sell??
|
?? sold ??
|
Hey guys, sorry for the slow response........ The Venture is still available however we have someone coming to see the boat at the end of the month.
I'll post an update at that time, but feel free to reach us if you need. Thanks.............. Brian. |
Cant believe this boat never sold. Has to be cause of the twins. I don't get it they are not ancient twins. Very nice boat nonetheless.
|
