Re: 27 project
I'm the high bidder as of now....
This is in my back yard so to speak. ;) I have a friend in the wrecker business with a class D truck which has a long boom. Have a triple axle trailer ready to load on to. Soooo this means BACK-OFF!! :D The Seamaster hopefully will be mine. See ya, Ken |
Re: 27 project
Funny Ken...you were the 1st guy I thought of who has the space, is close to it, and is crazy enough to pick it up.

Good Luck, Ken! That one is like snagging you lobster bag on a shallow reef only to find you're stuck on the anchor of the Santa Maria :D
Now lets bury this post... |
Re: 27 project
in light of someone here bidding on it, I'll refrain from bidding!
|
Re: 27 project
Ken - I threw a $50 bid in earlier (didn't know you were bidding) I must have been smokin crack. Please outbid me . . . I don't need or want it even for $50 (I'll give you the difference if I accidentally win). I'll be down in Tampa and Boca Grande 2nd week in March and I'd love to see it at your place.

Re: 27 project
Ken good luck!! One small piece of advice for what it is worth. If you are really interested in it, you may want to try to track down the title before you acquire it if possible.. If the boat is located in Florida, I know a little bit about title issues. I am a real estate attorney and, in addition to my 23 seacraft, I own a 20 ft. sailboat (compliments of a local marina) with no title.. It has been a major fight trying to get a title in order to register it. I have it worked out now but it has taken some serious, serious creativity on my part... At any rate, if the boat is salvagable, I would hate to sink a bunch of $$$ in it and then have title issues. Just my 2 cents..... 27 seacrafts are tanks for sure...

Only two days and eight hours to go..........you are a brave man!!!! I know my limits, a divorce lawyer is way more than what this would cost! GOOD luck!

Re: 27 project
WOW!!!!
I would have a hard time deciding on restoring the origional lines or doing something like Kernel Tug. That is a nice looking rig! |
Re: 27 project
that boat is the same type as a gent I once knew in NJ back in the 70's he had the cockpit finished in teak, extra fuel behind cabin bulkhead and extra fuel on the front deck all in permanent tanks finished white. he would run 80 miles to the canyons and target white marlin very nice boat when finished his boat had a pair of inboard gas engines with jack shafts no IO's that is a big project but a great boat when completed good luck with the buy and redo |

I mentioned how excited I was to see another 27' SeaMaster, and he decided he wanted to buy it and restore it. I even told him that Ken was bidding on it. This is the same guy who bought my old '74 Tsunami. He has since become addicted to SeaCraft, like the rest of us. |

Re: 27 project
I thought about it but fishing off my 23 with a new motor, and this economy have sucked me dry.
If you need help moving it, let me know, I have some boat stands with screw lifts on them, and you could lift it up and put it on the trailer. When I first saw the picture, I thought that tree was growing out of it. That would be a great rig with a bracket and a pair of suzuki 300's. |
Re: 27 project
The seller contacted me today.
Going tomorrow to look at and take a survey and pics. I may or may NOT divulge my findings.... If you catch my drift. ;) Thanks to all of you with your support, Ken |

Good luck with this one Ken! It's the ultimate SeaCraft! I have a friend that bought one new - had a big block Mercruiser in it. It was a great Bahamas rig! Denny

Re: 27 project
Hi NoBones:
That would be a cool name for her. I always have thought the SeaCraft really missed the boat by not pursuing the 27 CC as a key boat for them instead of the 25 footer. Dont get me wrong I like the 25 footers but for me when you already have the 23 footer as a key boat you need to really kick it up a notch and the differences between the 23 with a bracket and the 25 are kind of competing against each other where as the 27 foot CC would have been a defined major difference. If you get her whats your plan CC or keep her like she is? I/O or twin outboard on a bracket? FellowShip . Just for the Grins :D :D Official Antique Classic SeaCraft Owner |
******** eXtreme Makeover---- 27' Edition*******
Update....
Tarpun and I just returned from the recon. All I can say is if someone is serious about this boat "BE PREPARED" for a major expense in just moving her. The boat has not moved since 1982. It is a TOTAL gut. What the weather did not take its toll on the rats, termites and racoons did!!!!! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...PDR_0007-3.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0014.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0018.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...4/PDR_0022.jpg Keeping in mind that there is the one in Texas for sale right now for $12,500. Where as this restore will be somewhere between $65-$85,000, just a conservative guess. May the best man win ;) See ya, Ken |
Re: 27 project
That's too bad. That thing looks like a total wreck. Were the stringers and transom rotton too?? Or did you even go that far b/f throwing your hands up and waiving the white flag?
