Mini Season in the Keys
Who's going to the Keys for Mini Season? I'll be on Long Key with my wife and son and three or four other families from Saturday 7/24 until Friday 7/30.

Re: Mini Season in the Keys
I'm here for the month. Probably leaving the first week in Aug. I'm in Key Colony Beach on Marathon. My place is usually rented for Mini but this year we are staying for the mayhem.

Re: Mini Season in the Keys
Well, Tucker, I guess it's just you and me down there this year. I'll have my SF 20. We're staying at Limetree Bay Resort. Feel free to stop by for a cocktail one evening. We're usually out on the dock cleaning fish by five thirty or six PM. When I'm in the boat, the VHF is on channel 72.

Re: Mini Season in the Keys
If it is just you and I - so be it. Maybe everyone else will stay home and we will have all the lobsters for ourselves! You aren't missing anything right now. The winds at Sombrero Light are 17kts gusting to 26kts. And worse is the fishing hasn't been great even before the wind started.
At least its been cooler here than at home in NJ!!!!! |
Re: Mini Season in the Keys
GFS and I are taking my boat down to Key Largo, Sunday 7/25 till probably the following Saturday. Denny

Here's a shot of the crew reeling in 300' of hose from Ken's Cracker Air rig! Sandy cranked the reel, Skip guided the hose and Carla stood on the reel to hold it down! http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...ievingHose.jpg |
Re: bushwacker
Thanks Carla, Danny, and Denny.
Sorry I didn`t get a pic of Tiny`s boat either. I see old SC`s all the time, and always wonder if they are on the site. Denny chased a Moray eel out of a hole shared by a nice fat bug. The big ones are crafty and they all seem to have back doors. Saw some small nurse sharks, and didn`t even hum the theme from JAWS. Cheers, GFS I hear there may be another monumental gathering when plumbing improvements are made. We also need to head down for some sandin` and glassin` parties on the 21. Cheers, GFS |

hose, so you know who is where and what is what..... That little dive rig has produced hundreds of bugs over the years. I know it is a "PAIN" in the azz for who ever stays in the boat cause of the noise... but, the end result is what makes it worth while!!! See ya, Ken :D |

If it gets hot troll faster! Good to see you and what a priceless pic of little girls enjoying the ocean. We all kinda noticed the windows and had to stop by. Great to meet others on the site. Pretty boat and nice canvas. Soon they will be bringing bugs home, with smiling faces, and on their own. What a life, GFS |
Re: bushwacker
Man-o-man, does that bring back memories!!!! :D
When my kids were that size they loved going to the keys! Then all of a sudden they became teenagers and said... Dad do we have to go to the keys again.. :D Now that they are respectfully 33 & 28 years old, with families of their own, they say hey dad, when are you going to the keys so we can go too!!!! If you just keep torturing them while they are young skulls full of mush someday they wake up and say, that was not that bad...... So right or wrong, I think that we brought the two of them up OK!!! See ya, Ken |
Re: Mini Season in the Keys
I just notices you are in Palm Beach and have a Seafari. I am in Boca with a Seafari 20 that I have had since 1987. If you are ever down this way send an email hoffpaul@gmail.com .. Thanks
